hi.. yes that's correct.. the bypass valve opens based on throttle position and rpm's..
so if you are cruising in 3rd or 4th.. and then you push...
if what you are describing as a booming sound.. that's the bypass valve opening, changing the exhaust tone..which can be heard in first clip.....
with the major done as recently as 2017, there is not much to bargain there.
indeed do leak down and compression test, from what I read leak down...

those rims are the nicest match for the 355 hands down..
I agree the 348 wheel looks better then the 355 non airbag wheel..
I watched both vids yesterday.. I thought they were very good.
these rims are very nice.. tastefully modernizes the 355.. and matches the car well.
there are only very few rim designs that will match the 355...
correct. the dilemma where to find a holster spot for my gun in my 355 is a foreign issue to me.
but hopefully you find a good spot.

FYI.. if the ones you have are as pictured.. they will not work with the 5.2.. there is no post o2 bung.
actually ironically.. just came across this vendor for Cat ecu and thermo probe replacements..
after watching this vid...
a flashing SDL at cold start.. is usually a dead exhaust ecu.. not usually the thermo probe, but yes could be possible. since you replace two...
i wouldn’t say it’s exaxly a minor leak.
it’s fuly leaking all the way down to the crossbar and then to the floor.
