I don't think the cat was glowing red, so maybe it's just the ECU. I'll take it to the dealer for further diagnosis.
No temp was measured for the cat as we were at the track. I'll ask if it happens again. Is there no concern with the cats being 17 years old?...

I believe the iPod was an option and so you should be able to find a 16M without it or at least replace the head unit with an OEM one.
