Yeah I think the D80 would be better, D200 used can be had for very cheap as well.
you can't autofocus a 50mm on a D60. I would get a used D200 or D80 if you want more Megapixels.

21 MP on a full frame sensor is very different then 15 MP on a cropped sensor. Megapixels don't matter until you start blowing things up poster size.
I taught myself how to use it fairly competently. There are a ton of tutorials on youtube and online.
If you want to print the picture, just take the people out and put a black background.
I use 1 or 2 off camera flashes, this one was a single flash, this was the SB800. I used the included stand and just put the flash on the ground...
