I finally got time to dig in and find the problem. The small gear for one of the shock actuators had broken. This is apparently a common...
Good thought. I'll hunt down the shock ECU and try disconnecting it. Thanks.
Well, I tried the ECU reset as detailed above with no luck. Is there a way to check out the shock actuators, or am I destined for the 300 mile...
Thanks. I'll give the ECU reset a try.
No, I'm not sure there isn't an actuator problem. I've looked at the front ones and the wires are not stretched tight. Is there a way I can rule...
I recently had a battery failure with no warning. After finding my 99 550 wouldn't start, I replaced the battery. The new battery solved the...
The power steering pump on my 550 started making noise as I was driving it home from purchasing the car. I don't know if the 456 is the same as...
The wear marks are from the insulation blanket drooping. If you look at how it is fastened, there are plastic buttons all over except the area...

Taz, I just took a look at Ricambi's diagram for a 550 and it shows a plug where your item 20 goes. Is this sensor perhaps for the F1...
Wow. You're fast. I see the little bugger there. Thanks a lot for your help. Bob
Hi guys, Does anyone know the location of the sensor that provides the speedometer with its speed signal? I've scoured the shop manual but...
Phillip, It looks like yours is just starting. On mine the lines run the full length of the intake cover and there is an image of the prancing...
What a sad story. You can probably sell the older ones on Ebay, but they were probably a minor part of your cost. Didn't the technician wonder...
Sorry folks. After posting this I used the search function and answered my own question. Apparently the Sony radios don't require a code. Bob
When I purchased my 550 the seller didn't have the radio code that is needed after power has been cut to the radio i.e for a battery replacement....
