Sal is back from Italy where he was pre running the Targa and setting up logistics for bring over 0846 and 002C.

We began to check out the Lola which after the FQC seemed to be losing a little coolant. We removed the header to reach the silicon water lines which indeed had loosened a tad where they connected to the SS water lines. We're checking over everything and giving her a good clean. Sal likes a bit of sealant where silicon meets steel. We're also redoing a bolt or two that were limiting the radius rods movement at extreme movement (Bourbon St. Burnouts followed by 90 deg. turns). All in all not much for her 3000K service after Joe's massive restoration.

002C was run pretty hard 100+ for over an hour. (Sal and Jesse took the long way to the track) and she too is fine. We're sourcing a period dash switch for the rad fans, before they were thermostatically controlled but Sal wanted manual control in the staging he encountered before the Police got moving in the Quarter. We'll fix a slow tire leak, tighten everything, put in the new seatbelts, (Blue), paint on the shields and she'll be ready for Cavallino.

The Ford after her 165+ loaf to the track simply needed a cleaning but this spring we're going to take her completely apart for an inspection and cleanup.
    (It's been 10 years and 25K miles)

0846 is ready for some serious testing at Cavallino.

Dusey J446 is just about finished up with her transformation from a trailer queen to a driver. As were full up we sent her to Brian Joseph a Dusey specialist who's changing the diff ratio (it was to low), boiling out the rad and water jackets, correcting a few things, truing the wheels and replacing the tires. When he's done we're going send him the Studz to get it off to a good start.

Don't suppose you were at the Mille Miglia run earlier this year?

Fantastic cars and superb to see them being used properly! If only all classics of this quality shared the same fate (though it seems that more and more are falling into petrolhead hands).

All sounds like good quality shed time ;).

Saw a GT40 replica (assumption) the other day. Never have seen one coming towards me before, usually on the track or in shows. Man they are low!!! and tiny.

Hi, I am new to this but thought having read the thread on the P4 I thought you might like to know the following information.

In the UK we have a new philosophy, "BLAIRING" Blairing is quite simply if you keep telling people about something that appears true sooner or later it becomes true and then folk believe it. I have to say it does appear there is an amount of "Blairing" here on 0846. having read various comments there is no full proof that this car is 0846, in fact those who have studied this car know that it can''t be but who am I to judge. However the "Blairing" that is coming out of the story is fact and I am afraid it appears the story will become fact although it could be fiction!

Got to say the car looks good though, perhaps they could build me another one in the same way! or maybe they could not?

Let's see. "in fact those who have studied this car know that it can''t (sic.) be..."
    Know? Hardly.
No one who has studied my car in the metal and read the 100+ document delineating my beliefs about 0846 has ever publically stated any specific, concrete evidence that my beliefs are incorrect. No one.
Indeed no one after reading my document, that continues to be available on FCHAT,has ever publically, or privately stated the opinion that any of the beliefs therein are incorrect.

It think Graham makes a very valid point. If we can just get enough anonymous Englishmen to declare that it cannot possibly be 0846 will we finally know the aweful truth? Is it really just a Fiero with body kit?

The difference is Jim has the evidence to back up his claims, blair doesnt.

There is another philosophy I'm fond of its "ignoring ignorant illinformed W4nkers" it works well for both labour politicians and people like you

Made up and installed new shift guides out of oil pregnated brass instead of delrin for SL71-32, took her for a run after her FQC clean up.
She RAN and shift guides worked very well.
Put her to bed as it's gonna snow tomorrow.

Removed tach and water temp gauges for calibration from 0846 and finished FQC clean up.

J6 needs new tires so put her on chassis stands and will dismount old tires, have rims painted and put on new tires. We'll do 25K service next spring after Toronto International Auto Show where she and 0846 will be in the Hall of Classics.

002C will be getting an engine out service this winter and a new set of tires and wheels. I'll post pics of engine service early next year as I'm off into thin air. (Highland Bowls)

    Photo of SL71-32 sleeping.

    Hi,

Well considering my post was based on the comments raised (or lack of them depending what side you are on) shown on the forum, I suppose I am allowed to make an assumption (this is a free country at the moment after all) although you would agree I am sure, assuming you understand philosophy at all, there are always two sides to a story!

In reply to the second part of your comment, as I do not know know what evidence you have, or in fact that you know this Jim person at all!! (Perhaps you do, maybe not who knows, is he your long lost uncle or something?) your vulgar expression obviously reflects your intelligence and therefore your appreciation of all the facts so why bother replying in such a manner?

Never mind I'll pick your rattle up from the floor and be happy to put it back in your mouth ( no doubt you would have to P 4 your mum before hand!)

    Happy New year

    1. There can be 1 or many viewpoints of a story, however in this case you may well have meant, there may be two sides to an argument / debate

    2. Jim G is the person who owns the car in question (no relation but thanks for asking)

    3. Having read Jims comprehensive documentation and listened (read) to the counter arguments I came to the conclusion that Jims car is 0846, as much as is possible given the evidence of both sides.

    4. My vulgar expression rather than clarifying my lack of intelligence, merely highlights the frustrations many people on Fchat have with anonymous "Trolls" making negative and single sided arguments on one subject (and one subject alone)

    5. Rattles are intended to be held in a Childs hand not its mouth.

If you have any new evidence on this history of 0846 please share it.

You have made 3 posts all of which on the same subject and all negative in tone, So why not click into the UK section, fill in your profile and become a contributing member of the largest on-line Ferrari community, you'll be made more than welcome

    Ciao
