Sure...when they are performing in a Race perhaps better than the Bridgestones, everything is beautiful. Now that they can't,they cry and pack it up. I say that FIA should ban Michelins from F1 Racing.

Also, this Tire rule that the FIA has this year has GOT to Go. Bunch of B.S. They NEED to be able to switch Tires throughout the Race. It doesn't take anything away from Racing. And,it is a safety factor for the Drivers.

But...as a Ferrari Owner and Fan....I am LOVIN' IT!!!!!....:)

After this latest fiasco, I am forced to agree. Bring the old rules back. Ferrari domination is better than seeing six cars starting an F1 race.

I've had street car track days that were more exciting and technical than this.

If Michelin can't build a tire for Indy, then they can't build a tire for my cars either. Ban Michelin at the tire shop, too.

They did build a tire for Indy, they came in overnight.

The next race should only have 6 cars as well. All of the ****ing teams that sat out today should be banned for at least one race.

This was a giant game of chicken, and apparently no one swerved at the last minute. I am actually surprised that at least one of the teams didn't risk it. Michelin has to be behind it, putting pressure on all of them for next year's contract. Every single car should have Bridgestone on it next year.

Can anybody make a quick Michelin tire man with a red circle and cross around him?

    Go MINARDI!

No, they brought in Barcelona-spec tires overnight trying to get the FIA to allow their teams to run them instead of the Indy-spec tires they brought earlier in the week.

There is no logical argument against Charlie Whiting's response to Michelin. To paraphrase, he said "Michelin, you have the data and the experience to build a tire for Indianapolis. Your proposal of a chicane penalizes the teams that came prepared to race".

I'm a tad tired of watching F1's official US test day. Switching off the telly and going to Home Depot now.

IMHO...they should've installed the Chicane, but the Bridgestone shod cars didn't have to go through it,but past it....

Exactly! It will be a very VERY long time before I buy another Michelin tire.
A shame, too... I was real curious to try the Pilot Sport Cups... will likely NEVER happen.

I hope the US fans take it out on Michelin, not on Formula One. However, given the morons there are throwing $#it on the track at the drivers who did run... they'll probably direct their anger in all the wrong ways.

Don't buy French crap... especially not Michelin crap!!

they should ban fia from formula 1 and get a new sponsor or sanctioning body or whatever... politicsa should be gone from f1 racing, and fia is very political, ruining the great racing that once was formula 1. the chicane should have been added, but ferrari didnt want it, so it didnt happen...

My truck needs new tires soon. Looks like i will be putting Bridgestones on it.

I left the track after 14 laps. What a bunch of crap. Michelin should be excluded from producing tires for Formula 1 for the rest of the season. Force all of the teams to use Bridgestones then we will see who has the dominating car this season.

There have been threats of a "breakaway" series for years. We may have just seen the first battle of Bernie vs. Auto companies. Who loses? Us.

While none of us really know all the reasons why the chicane was not put in place, given the amount of money spent by both tire manufacturers, not building a suitable tire for Indy has no excuse. They have both raced there five times previously. Michelin got caught with their pants down and wanted a second chance.

I personally hope all the teams on Michelin have their points wiped out for the season up to this point.

Beast, sorry you wasted your money. Although you can always say you went to the worst F1 race ever.

This was the first year I was going to have a chance to go, glad I didn't now.

its not the teams running michelin's fault, michelin is the one that sposors them, they didnt know the tires would suck. the just chose not to run because there was a serious risk of the drivers getting seriously injured or dieing... and there was a change to the track, it was repaved since last year, and that may have had an effect on the tires, because even a slight change can make a big difference.

After more consideration, having all of the point from the Michelin teams removed seems like a better idea. Let them start with zero points from this point forward, but keep the Bridgestone points the same (no retroactive DQ's for Michelin cars).

On the bright side, BAR won't be penalized any points at all.

This is a joke, I just spoke to my buddy at Indy who flew there from California. I agree that Michelin blew it, but the person in my mind that should be banned for life from F1 is Max Mosley and his Bull$hit one tyre rule. He has turned F1 into a joke.

Michelin did not do their home work. FIA followed the rules to the letter. Put the blame where it lies on MICHELIN....
