Dutch (!!!) taxpayer! Maybe we should start a new thread with a list of participants for this event. That will help Henkie to estimate how many people will arrive in Deil.
Sorry guys, sad news: I can not participate in your event Just got the dates for the Dallas Show 2006. http://www.guitarshow.com/ THE main show for my business and a must go for me. I´m running there a huge booth since over 10 years and its the most important show/business of the year.
Once again sorry dudes, but please see my earlier post "cant promise it right now". I have got my invitation and booth reservation for the Dallas Show early this morning. Aaaaaaaaa.....I see, you don t want to see me- jus the TR Should I ask my daughter to drive the TR to Deil while I`m in Texas? No, think thats a bad idea - both (my TR & daughter) will be gone and never come back
Of course I want to meet you, but since you'll be away, I'll take anything I can get and if the TR is just sitting there, while you are away, well... Can't blame a guy for trying!
I see some posts have been removed!!?? I know it could have looked like a hi-jack but does this mean we can't have any fun at all?? I don't even know who started "it" exactly but there are some more posts which could be seen as a hi-jack and which are still in the thread! Where do we draw the line??? This wasn't a deliberate hi-jack for sure!! It was even on topic in some way!!! right Wolfie?? Yes, we have the bonkers thread and blablabla, but sometimes we go a bit off topic in other threads also! All in good fun! Just wanted to say this.... again!! Ofcourse i respect the decisions of the mods but you know.... freedom of speech!
I don't understand that I have to tell this over and over again. Fun is OK! But we have to draw a line. Some people within this forum have an uncontrollable urge to have what they call "fun". But we also have to respect the others. I have deleted the files on request from the threadstarter because it was really destroying the purpose of this thread. It is very difficult now for future participants to read what this is all about. I agree with this and I have decided to watch this more carefully in the future. Sticky threads are "sticky" for a reason.
Well, the purpose of this thread was to organise a FUN meeting!! No? The FUN was allready here!! (now it's gone ) Sorry couldn't resist Ton and co! I shall never do it again I shall never do it again I shall never do it again I shall never do it again I shall never do it again I shall never do it again I shall never do it again I shall never do it again I shall never do it again I shall never do it again BTW: damn, i hi-jacked the thread!!! , am i banned now?
Damn it! Yes, the purpose is a fun meeting! Not a thread to have fun with!! Just think about who destroyed the fun! For God sake behave like an adult. Ask me again to be banned and it will happen!
I (we) weren't having fun with the thread, you know that very well!! Don't act like you never do anything like that! Relax Ton, i wanted to relax things in a funny way!! My mistake (forgot fun wasn't allowed here), i'll shut up and dissapear! It seems like i'm not very welcome anyway (don't have enough posts!!! talking about staying "on topic"!!!) , although i'm an F-chatter from the very beginning!! (don't look at my date joined, was here loooong before on the old board) BTW: who removed some posts and thus started this discussion? You know very well we don't keep hi-jacking a thread these days just because of the experiences in the past!! We agreed to keep it to a minimum! And if it starts to get out of hand, you can contact the persons involved by PM! Or you can post something in the thread itself! I didn't even get a PM in which you say what happened to the posts!! I just had to find out myself!! Please don't make the mistake like Rob made with SteveF!! If Rob only send Steve a PM, that whole "war" wouldn't have happened!!!
Whew ! Guys, it seems to me neither one of you is serving the purpose of this thread, right now ...... Hope you get a good night of sleep and sort things out again later.
Ton, Guy, ok, no problem... there has to be a line... Agreed. I understand why the posts in question are deleted... and I completely respect Henkie's request... the thread has to stay clear and off topic talk kept to a minimum... certainly in a sticky thread about an oncoming meeting... but I completely understand Guy too! Where DO you draw the line? It's a difficult matter. If some talk in relation to Wolfgang's absence is not allowed... What about the amount of posts neccessary to be welcome at the meeting? Or the fact that people are Dutch or Belgian taxpayers...? Not really on topic either IMO? Shouldn't those posts be deleted too then??? Are those posts more "fun" or "less off topic" then others??? No, IMO. To be correct, ALL posts that haven't got anything to do with the meeting should be deleted then... no matter who posted them! I certainly don't want to attack anyone! This is a great thread about a great meeting and it should stay that way... This off topic discussion should be in another thead. I just felt I had to say this... Now let's go on and stay happy! We're among friends here isn't it? Still looking forward to it! Regards, Alexander
Thanks Alex, I don't want to start a war at all. I think that we have a great community. But we must draw a line. This time the original starter of the thread asked me very politely for help. He is organizing a great meeting and tries to keep overview over the situation. ome people make that very difficult because they find that they have the "right to have fun". Of course this should be a fun place. I also use this as a place to talk to people that I have met in the past. Nevertheless there must be a place for everything. So, it must also be possible to have a serious thread about meetings, Fcars or other issues. At this point it seems that this is not the case. I am a bit tired of people who CONSTANTLY try to hide between a "right to have fun". Most of the times the discussions are fun, but not always! Sometimes people don't like it if their thread is hijacked. We must also take this side in consideration. Guy, You are a very well respected member of this forum. We appreciate your input very much. But now I have the feeling that you look at it from one side only. Don't feel this as a personal attack, because it isn't. It is more a message to everybody who respects our section. Ton
hey guys....I remember that someone was going to plan the route for this meeting. Would it be a good idea to go to a nice environment for some photoshoots?
Very good idea. Henk told me he knows some very nice routes. Maybe there is a nice place to make some beautifull pictures. Some of you really have a talent to make very nice pictures of Ferrari's.
Hello Henkie, Ton asked us to say something friendly to you: O.K. lets start: Henkie, you are a wonderful awesome great guy and we all thank you in advance to organize this meeting - sadly I can not join you cause I´m in Dallas/TX during this weekend. Best Wolfgang @Ton, brave Wolfie? Well done?
