Why wouldn't you use it? I have used my various sets a lot...in my 348 Spider for a trip to the USGP, in my TR for a FCA event in Ashville, NC, and in my Boxer for last years FFQC. Their design/shape will allow you to pack the maximum possible in a Ferrari.
I've never travelled in the f40. No weekend trips. day trips only. Plus, if you saw the way my wife packs....
optimized luggage seems like a good idea, but i'm not really feeling that 355 piece very much... and definitely not for over 2 grand for a whole set.
We were able to pack my tux, a suit, my wife's formal evening and cocktail dresses along with causal wear and other needed attire for last years FFQC, although we did use a couple of soft suit cases along with the two piece set for my Boxer. But, we had to have our clothes pressed at the hotel before wearing them.
I'm sure we could get a 3-day weekend's worth in the luggage. but then I'd have to leave the car somewhere.... Haven't taken the car to cavallino or something like that yet, where I'd be comfortable leaving the car. Probably will go to cavallino for 2007, but even then we almost always travel with our dog, who absolutely hates the f40! So probably would ship the car as opposed to drive it there any way. I enjoy the car most on saturday / sunday mornings and afternoons. not so much traffic....
FYI The Schedoni website is at: http://www.schedoni.modena.it/ However I don't see any Ferrari-specific items here. A few years ago Schedoni made a tan version of its #BU122 attache case available with the stamped Ferrari Cavaliino. An absolutely gorgeous item; wish they still made it today. To me there's just something about Schedoni that sets it apart. Style, craftsmanship, the grade/feel/look/scent of the leather, whatever. The current non-Schedoni accessory leather items Ferrari is selling (briefcases, etc.) leave me cold.
Just recently received two pieces (out of four?) which came with my TR originally but not found until later by the seller. They are brand new, still with cardboard inserts. I wouldn't hesitate to use them if I ever took the car on overnight trips, but probably wouldn't use them routinely. However, I know leather lasts much longer if used regularly and develops that beautiful patina.
The fitted pieces are only at the Owners Site.. Patpong!!! GOT MINE TODAY!!!!! 1989 set, slightly used, $2,100USD...I feel lucky as it is 3,800 Euro NEW. BUT, I still have to get a new BLACK set for #22127...Lady Valeria just packed the shoe bag and make up kit out of the room..... I HATE it when that happens! *grinning, ear to ear* "When Momma's happy, EVERYBODY happy"

Haha! I reckon too. A very nice luggage set to say the least. That F40 set is probably worth more than my 348.
If you order a set of Schedoni luggage through the Ferrari owner's site, budget approximately an additional 8%, which FedEx will direct-bill you later for customs.
I think that "Schendoni" should be "***Tony, why are these so expensive?" Get serious. $3,500.00 for suitcases! I don't spend that much $ on the whole trip! And that includes the rental car.
If somebody can wait a bit, I'm currently considering selling my perfect set for a 308/328. It is original from the eighties. Decision will be made in a few months.
The number of pieces varies by model of car.... Boxer has two 308/328 has four F50, IIRC has two Enzo, IIRC twoo or three or ? Note also the Boxer tool boxes for jacks are leather also, IIRC.. Many of the vintage cars had a leather tool box. How many for the 348??? You should post your 348 set here if you wish to sell it! Sorry to hear of the divorce, but maybe worth it??? LOL! Andreas, I need another set for #22641 when you make a decision please let me know! If you would like to place them with an Fchatter.......
