Here is the one that was in the paperwork when I acquired mine (I belive I am the 4th owner).

Of course I removed / smudged information that would have personally identified the original owner.

I just thought it might be interesting to see what was being paid 20yrs or more ago. (Not just the amounts, but original docs).

Think it might be a while before I can get back the original investment (much less inflation and repair $$$)! !

Seems like a lot of dough for back then. But, if the average car price was around $10K now it's about $20K and the average F is around $200K, so I guess it's all relative.

Introduced to the world in 1984 the Testarossa instantly became the definition of a true supercar. For 11 years the Testarossa was the fastest production car built, and the car against which all contemporary sports cars were measured.

Very cool. I also have the original documents somewhere with mine. I am the 3rd owner. I even have a photocopy of the check the 1st owner made when he bought the car, back in December 1991 for 90,000 pounds! Big dollars!! :)

I actually owned a B210 at one time. I never looked under the hood but I swear it was powered by a rubber band.

Almost dead on! According to http://www.westegg.com/inflation/infl.cgi, what cost $111,549.80 in 1986 would cost $191,084.09 in 2005 (the most recent year available). So I guess Ferrari has pretty well kept in line with inflation.

Believe it or not, that was a bargain price compared to what they were selling for just before the exotic car bubble burst in mid to late 1990. I can recall seeing dealers posting ads for TRs that were selling in the $250K-285K range.

    Best regards,
    Dino

Let's go back a bit further in time, shall we? My Boxer, July 1974. It cost 13 million, people!!! :)

    Gotta love those lires.

Using the GBP/USD exchange rate of 12th July 1974, we find that my car cost US$39,312 when new.

I wish I had these records for my 330GTC (and even my 550 Maranello) as well.
