Just browsing thru the Ferrari of Washington site & saw a 2004 360 w/the following description: Black 360 6 Speed with Black leather interior and white stitching. Comes with yellow calipers, challenge grill, shields, a clear bra, Capristo exhausts, Polished and Carbon Fiber engine compartment, and modular performance wheels.

Checked the pics & saw that it has what looks like a Challenge stripe. Great car, and I like CS rims & grills on non-CS cars, but IMO this goes too far.

As a non-owner (yet), if I found this parked in my driveway I wouldn't complain mind you ;)

I have seen this car and I would agree with your assesment. According to the salesman I spoke to, they will most likely remove the stripe.

    I think it's awesome!
In a year or two, my car will have so many miles on it that it will be essentially useless as far as resale value is concerned. At that time, I'm going to buy some Stradale wheels, bumpers, side skirts, diffuser, etc. Since I can't buy a Stradale 6-speed, I'll simply make one.

Brian I agree with you it just does not seem right maybe its the black and on a yellow or red car you could get away with it but blacks not a racing color. IMO

I think it looks great, but $190K!! They need to remember it's not a CS... it's just striped like one.

A CS stripe on a 360 Modena is for a poser-dump the stripe on that car and you have something (they would also have to drop the price quite a bit to make it worthwhile)

actualy i saw a 360 that had been cs "converted", good idea if you like the 6 speed, not sure all the mechanical differences between the 2 cars though apart from suspension, more power, ceramics.

Check in search-there has been much written about the differences on the CS vs the 360 Modena. Worlds apart-almost a totally different car.

Dont know how much the guy bought the modena for. However buying a modena and then putting all the CS stuff on it should come out to about the same (or more) as buying the real thing.

That rear engine hatch with the lexan and cf side frames should cost over $15 000. The wheels and tires should have cost $6 to 8 000. Front and rear bumper with diffuser and rockers should run over $15 000. Cf side view mirrors, doorpanels and center console should run a few thousand as well. The racing seats I hear are $12 000. All that money spent and it's still not a CS. Even if the guy rips out the carpets and sound insulation, the car should still weigh more than a CS. The modena still has the automatic option whereas the CS only has F1.

The only way to do it (IMO) is to do it to a spider. There was never a CS spider produced by the factory (b/c a convertible would contradict the whole CS concept). But done the right way, it makes for the best looking convertible ever. Imo much better looking than the 360 spider as well as the 430 spider.

If owner or photographer objects to my posting below pics, I'll remove them right away. If not, please enjoy the best looking spider ever built.

When converting a spider to CS specs, the rear engine hatch doesn't have to be changed since the rear spoiler (elevated lip on the rear side) already is higher than it is on a modena. This guy however got cf side vents which looks ridiculously cool.

sorry guys but it takes waaaay more than a stripe and a set of wheels to turn a 360 into a CS IMO.
