I have some photos of yours truly from back in 1989 @ FoD when Tony Zarcone (sp?) worked there, I was skinny kid with a mullet back then, (scary photos) I'll see if I can find them.
Yes, it is the same car. the last time I saw it is when I was in Houston & it still had a 1989 Texas registration window decal.
Surely you remember this car..... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

How about a Challenge 360 before the decals went on....... This was when the Ferrari store was still a FERRARI store. Where you could go and drool over the varied and numerous cars on the showroom......... It was truly amazing how many cars we could get in that little showroom on 75. It would appear to only be able to hold 4 or 5. Sometimes we got as many as 16 on at once with 6 more stored in the shop overnight.........Talk about a candy store for the Ferrari enthusiast....... +1 It definitely had a nostalgic feel to it. The new facility is amazing without a doubt, but this building was something else. Now that Classic Pre-Owned Plus has moved to Plano, someone should turn this building into a Ferrari sales & service shop.
I liked that store on 75. It had a boutique feel to it. Also James thanks for taking the time and effort to talk to an enthusiast with more enthusiasm than money ( at the time ). If we meet again hopefully you may remember me. I remember a red 512M that was stunning, my favorite car there. The blue F50 falls into the "what were they thinking" catagory. You seemed to know your product and history well. Some sales people today couldnt tell you which end the engine is in.
Thanks for posting the great pics James! It looked like Tillman's future car in the back of one of the showroom pics. F-40 is still my favorite Ferrari.
I stopped by to see Tony often. One day he had that F40 in the service area of the building and asked me if I wanted to go for a ride. We proceeded to do a few laps north and south on the access roads of 75. The acceleration of that car was terrific. How times have changed in the Ferrari dealer customer relations. What are the odds today of having our local sales people asking you to "jump in" for a ride in ANY Ferrari? Mark
wow... i remember being a young lad passing by and stopping on occasion at the store on 75.... something magical about that location that motivated me to keep pursuing the dream...thank God for that!
I really love the variety of cars they had at that location. The new location doesn't seem have an interest in doing that anymore.
Wow......Awesome stuff, James. Brings back the old days. Reminds me that I need to get my old Norwood pics digitized. I'd forgotten how functionally beautiful those were, and pre-CS, too. It's amazing - the difference in the new store's focus on "atmosphere" and attitude.....I liked the "boutique" feel of the old FoD, too, as David noted. . Unfortunately, things change: Gosh, golly, gee, Wally....It sure is swell that uncle ginsburg and the boardwalk gang have fixed all that!!!! Can't have any of the unwashed masses gettin' all uppity with dreams and aspirations, especially if we might reach for them one day and acheive something..........rather than just walking in with a blank check now........ < rolls eyes > Image Unavailable, Please Login
Last I heard, N. Cage bought the car, repainted it back to it's original red, and then was sold to another member here. Pity as I loved that color. Was a magnificent machine to see in person.
