Everyone's been saying they have to wait to see it in person to make a better judgment. Now that you have, what's your verdict: Ti piace?

    Ciao.

In the second photo is that the fuel filler cap above the rear wheel arch or is that a vent(or even a piece of camo)?

Not noticed either on any other pics

I was so lucy to see it in person in Maranello without camouflage whatsoever during a factory tour in June. I simply love it. It is the best looking 8 cylinder Ferrari since 328.
At last a true PininFarina design, not the product of a Japanese designer who lives in Italy.

    Ciao

    Eugenio

The filler cap door was missing. I guess that it will be there in the production car :)

Molto bella. Più la vedo, più mi piace.

I reckon the car looks great. I don't mind the standard rims but I do hope that the challenge-style rims will be made available as an option.

The more I see this car, the more my preferences lean towards the Corvette or the Charger. They are a lot cheaper and a lot better looking.

What's wrong with Ken Okuyama's work? The Rossa Concept, Enzo, Birdcage 75th, and 599GTB are all strikingly beautiful designs. In fact Ken gave Ferrari and Pininfarina such a new direction that I think it's a shame he left. Or is it simply problematic to have a JAPANESE guy heading Pininfarina design?

Jason is the designer, Okuyama is the director, IIRC.

I simply do not like the Enzo design and think that the 599 does not have classic lines. I think that an Italian brand like PininFarina should stay close to Italian taste, not look for "contaminations" from very different, but by no mean lesser, cultures.
    As simple as that.
    Ciao

I kind of understand that some people don't want any kind of Japanese influence in Ferraris or Italian cars...but what about the other way around. How would you like it if there was Italian Influence on Japanese cars?...

Either way, I love the 599...and didn't even know it was designed by a "Japanese" guy.

I don't know why but i like the first pic, it's like the rear mirrors were designed to look great from this angle..

this car might be like the enzo, doesn't look good on pics but gorgeous when you see it for real...
    just wait.

Yeah, I see what you mean. There is a flow-line fron the headlight arch and continues to the mirror...They just shaped the end of the mirrors too round.

Now, would YOU have your California with the Cheesegrate Grill or Challenge-mesh as on the 360/430?...Challenge mesh please.

I doubt such an option will be available as the engine is up front...

Thanks for posting the pics Eugenio. Boy, I think you'll be in the minority if you feel it's even better looking than the 355! But it is true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :) One concern I posted in another forum was with operating the top in a standard garage or while being parallel parked. I think there will be more than one damaged trunk lid, garage door, or vehicle that is parallel parked behind a California.

I've been disappointed in the California from most of the pics I've seen. It just seems to look somewhat generic to me, and not breaking any new ground. I've wondered if I'd pick it out as a Ferrari from the outside, if it didn't have the eggcrate-type grill and hood intake. I've thought it even looked too much like a 599. But after closely comparing pics, the 599 is so much better looking with sharper lines. I will reserve final judgement though until I see one in person, next to a 355 and 599. I doubt I'll warm up much, though, but I am looking forward to seeing it in person.

I've still never had the opportunity to see an Enzo in person, but I'm crazy about the car from the pics!! Amazing and unique design IMO :D
