    Hamilton wins the championship and no appeals/penalties/stop-go etc from Ferrari!

    Jeff, this needs **SPOILER** in the title, some people didn't get up to watch the race I bet. ;)

    Great race on all accounts, I lost $100 on this championship, took a bet back in April RE Lewis V's the rest of the field. I really enjoyed this season, best in a long time.

    Congrats to the youngest world champ ever and congrats to Ferrari for another well earned constructors championship.

    Maybe now Lewis will grow up?

    Mac *did'nt* win it, Ferrari lost it and gave it to them on a plate.

    Massa's engine failure [German conrods] in Hungry and the fuel rig [German made] issue in Singapore cost Massa 20 easy points.

    Massa *nearly* stole the race today, drove superb and did all he could do in winning the race, none the less Hambone is a worthy champion all the same.

    Ferrari licks its wounds, only itself and the Germans to blame....

    But what goes around comes around. Didn't McLaren lose constructor's title last year in dubious cicumstances?

    I disagree, Ferrari were not as well prepared as in previous (recent) seasons but McLaren did a good job this year, with Hamilton taking the drivers championship fair and square, I don't like the guy, nor do I like the in your face media love of him, he has plenty of growing up to do but he will be around long enough to do that and will be around to fight plenty more championships. Massa fought a good championship also, and if he had won it then he would have been no more deserving than Hamilton. Ferrari didn't throw it away, they made the best effort to get their driver to the top and they didn't make it happen, their best was not good enough.

    Saying Ferrari gave it away is not a fair assesment of this season.

    Have to agree here, I don't think Ferrari gave it away, they were just not up to the mark. I too hope Hamilton gets a maturity fix...if the media allow it!

    Haha, is that right? Even KR letting FM through in the last race to help him get that extra bit closer to the WDC still didn't help. Odds were against LH and he fought them to become the youngest WDC in his second season. Much respect to Lewis.

    If you go through my earlier posts, not the last race [penny finally dropped] but the earlier race, i called for KR to move over/*crash* out and let Massa get the 1/ONE extra point

    [Japanese GP, 12/10/08, would have been 6th spot instead of 7th, KR was only 3rd. had nothing to gain]

    If Massa had that extra 1/ONE point, he would have won the Championship today......

    Ferrari are making to many small errors which end up costing them BIG

    Motorsports is full of "ifs & buts"

    Hambone was VERY lucky today that Glock let him pass, his Mac was not doing it in the wet, 5th was lucky, 4th was never going to happen, Vettel is a deamon in the wet and Ferrari powered....

    Massa was *Champion* for around 1.5 laps [How cruel was that?]

    Its once again showed us that in its current form F1, qualifying is THE single most important thing.

    The only time i find F1 exciting is when it rains

    God bless non-boring Motorcycle Racing, and congrats to Bayliss/Ducati WorldChampion going out with a double win.

    Ferrari don't carry on like petulant children as McLunken did last year to put a dampener on the WDC KR won

    Hamilton is an arsehole, end of

    remember the Alamo (light system) , they were back to lollipops last night

    great, let's open THAT can of worms !!! McLunken are friggin' cheats, should have been thrown out of F1 for what they did, been documented ad nauseum, and someone worked out that Ferrari still won the WCC fair and square even if McLunken were allowed to keep all their points, the deciding race for the WCC last year was Hungary where FA and L 'petulant' H had the dust up and McLunken lost their points for that race

    ok, check out the blown engine when Massa was easily leading the race with a couple of laps to go, then the fuel hose fiasco with the pit light malfunction, or the KR penalty for changing tyres at the start of the race .... they blew it, RD and his team of cheats had the SECOND best car in the championship and just let Ferrari continue to stuff up, all they had to do was keep mouth Hamilton from seeing red and blowing it himself, Felipe was easily the better driver it's just not reflected in the results

    What really has amused me over the many years I have been watching F1 is the skullduggery that is expected of Ferrari by the garagisti and their commentators but it is them that you have to watch, anyone remember the radio conversations that got broadcasted in '97 when Schumacher needed to win the last race and all the English garagisti combined and played bugger up the Italians ?

    Hamilton is a hothead and a pig and next year's interviews will be doosies

    New Mercedes heading Timo Glock's way for suddenly "losing" power ?????

    Precisely

    True - but you suggested that "if Massa was one point further ahead - due to a difference in an earlier race" the outcome would have been different... I was merely pointing out that if you want to suggest that more "if's" are also possible :)

    So you don't like Mac/Hambone then? LOL

    As for Glock wonder what/if he was told to let him Hambone through?

    Could have been Toyota F1 managment paying back Ferrari, as Ferrari rightly took court action against Toyota F1 for stealing documents etc from them.

    Just like Mac.ie they CHEATED

    If only they could prove Glock let Lewis pass.

    For everyone saying b4 the race he had a target on him they all failed miserably, it's like none of them really know how to drive! :p

    Lewis didn't deserve the title, he cheated too many times and got away with it lightly this season. The stupid pts system favours reliability over actual performance(HELLO MASSA DESTROYED EVERYONE YESTERDAY!). Massa would of won the title with the old system, he just has more wins it's that simple.

    Anyone that thinks FIA is favouring Ferrari are deluding themselves.

    At least Ferrari won the contstructors title! (yeah right like anyone cares, cept Sir Frank :p )

    i get a feeling moretti is resisting the urge to enter the racing section as there is a fair amount on BS getting projected around and i could see him copping a ban :p

    one of the mods is a hammy fan, and sent me a warning via PM for calling another a 'keyboard warrior'. like WTF?

    shook my head. :p

    He will and he does.
    In fact, not only would Massa not have won the title on the old points system, Lewis would have won it in Shanghai.

    Really? 1 + 1 = 5 in VMAX world?

    1950-1960 8pts for winner 6pts for 2nd.
    1961-1990 9pts for winner 6pts for 2nd and each year they would mix it up by deciding on how many "best results".
    1991-2002 10pts for winner 6pts for 2nd.
    2003-Now 10pts for winner 8pts for 2nd.

    The majority of the seasons there was at-least a 3pt margin from 1st to 2nd. Then Schumie came along so they had to mix it up.

    Ofcourse its easy to play the "what If" game.
    But Lewis is no Champion in my books. Much like Alonso didn't deserve 2 titles.

    Massa 83
    Lewis 80

    Massa is the true hero this season, glock spoilt it for us :(

    Lewis won 5 races = 10x5 50+12+12+6 = 80
    2nd = 6x2
    3rd = 4x3
    4th = 0
    5th = 3x2
    6th = 0

    Massa won 6 races = 10x6 60+12+8+2+1 = 83
    2nd = 6x2
    3rd = 4x2
    4th = 0
    5th = 2x1
    6th = 1x1
