Any recommendations for a excellent PPI in NYC? Thank you!
I recommend Burt at JSS Performance in Mineola, right down the road from Hempstead. http://www.jssperformance.com/ Honest, reliable, timely. I have used him for both my f-cars before. I am sure others will chime in on this.
Burt's good... but he's not been a Ferrari tech in some years. I'd check with Universal Autosport: http://www.universalautosport.com/ They're an independent shop, just like Burt, but their master technician Luigi, has very recently been with a factory authorized store and he's probably the best guy out there to diagnose a car of that vintage. On Long Island, I'd say that you cannot beat Luigi for an expert opinion on a pre-owned Ferrari. For what it's worth, I also recommend Gotham Dream Cars transport company to move that car for you. Gotham is shuttling my Scuderia at the moment and I paid a VERY reasonable rate for more insurance than I know what to do with, fully enclosed point to point, in a very short period of time. [email protected] Good luck on your new ride... I love the understated style of the 456.
I have been corresponding with Anthony Simone at Universal Autosports and I will tell you he is an absolute gentlemen and extremely helpful. He is very honest and helped me above and beyond his line of duty. I would highly recommend anyone to communicate with him if you are looking at getting your Ferrari serviced or to obtain a PPI. Thank you guys for the advice! Bob
Burt at JSS Performance in Mineola, right down the road from Hempstead. http://www.jssperformance.com/ OVER CHARGES on his PPI inspections, to justify his charges he wrote me an essay about microscopic scratches and leather condition, I sent the car to have inspected for mechanical issues, check engine light was on, SRS light was on and ASC light was on, he didn't tell me how much it will cost to repair, or exactly what was the problem just gave me the codes in a computer (which any mechanic can do) He scared the crap out of me with his detail imaginary wordings on the condition of the center console, and $1 dollar clips. If you need someone to find out if a car is good or want to find out what a issue is with a Ferrari. DO NOT TAKE IT TO JSS PERFORMANCE. Burt will charge you insane money for a novel on scratches and blemishes. B-
^^^ It looks to me as JSS Performance did the right thing by listing everything they could on the car. That is why it is called Pre Purchase Inspection. I wish they are more people like Bert that are so knowledgeable and careful. But it sounds to me as you are the seller, and you weren't happy that someone actually knew more about the car then just where to plug in a computer/scanner
