Nice but I would be interested by the carbon airboxes WITH carbon horns. The elimination of the horns makes the sound worst on the F430. Maybe one day?

I watched the video of the Carbon Fiber Bumper Protection Kit but unfortunately, it is not shown how to install them. Would be nice to have the installation instructions shown so that anyone can install them themselves.

We engineered the airbox to produce max airflow. The effect the horns have on the intake sound would be very subtle. I would assume that the exhaust sound would overpower the slight difference anyway. Plus, it would probably be very difficult to reproduce the horns in CF.

Regarding the Carbon underbody kit, they simply install using heavy-duty double-sided tape that is supplied with the strips. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Oh I see, sounds a good idea which avoids rivets and extra holes in the bumper. With the double-sided tape + panels, how thick are they? Are the panels made of 100% carbon?

    Thanks

What's the maintenance overhead on the BMC filters? They're oiled, right? Do they need to be removed and cleaned? How often? Can the oil itself cause issues?

It shouldn't be too difficult to stay on top of the filter maintenance. I recommend blowing it out with an air hose (if you have access to one) a couple times a year. You should probably clean it once a year and lightly re-oil. If you drive the car only a few thousand miles per year, you can stretch the intervals longer. If it is a daily driver and you live on a dirt road in Texas, it'll require a few cleanings per year :)

I've headers, teat pipes and a capristo twin sound, at full chat the induction noise is still very clear. I'm not sure if the horns add to that noise but would be a real downer if an upgrade tok the uuberlicious carbon fibre airbox lids results in a loss in the induction noise, which personally I feel adds to the entire driving experience.

I just reread what I wrote about the intake sound and I wasn't very clear. The horns work as resonators which are designed to make the intake sound slightly quieter; not louder. With our Scuderia type intake covers, you should actually pick up a little more intake sound.

No, I will not Malvin. I still believe that these horns as resonators give a better overall engine sound as very well demonstrated by Richard on his Scud. Carbon airboxes with air horns do exist and are produced by Ferrari as original spare parts (replaced the entire airbox lower and upper). So it looks like it is technically possible the add the carbon horns to the airbox.

And as I expressed already a couple of times (and not just me), I would consider only paper air filters as it has been shown already by several studies that only paper air filters are able to correctly filter the smallest particules of dust.

But it's up to you buddy ;)

Although, I find the bumper protection kit a very interesting solution.

I have heard that the BMC filters can cause check engine light (CEL) issues in Ferrari and BMW.

I have the Fabspeed carbon airbox covers on my 360 and love the appearance. I bought the car with them so the HP bump is my "normal" level of power...

I have heard of filters causing the CEL on a few 911's due to oil making it in to the mass airflow sensor, but I have never seen it on a Ferrari. It is important not over over-oil, and let them sit for a while before starting the engine.

Also, keep in mind that the factory filters also fit, so if you don't want to use the BMC filter, you don't have to. Thanks!
