I searched the site for information on how remove the door panel on a 355 but couldn't find anything. I did find some posts on a 348 but wasn't sure if they are the same or not. Does anyone have specific instructions and sequence for removing the door panel on a 355?

The door handle broke and I need to replace it. Looks easy enough but I don't want to take any chances of damaging the interior.

    Thanks!

It really isn't that hard, and the diagram on the webpage given will give you an excellent idea of what's involved. I had to take mine off not too long ago and it was easier than I had thought, and easier than the NSX I think. It is the same diagram in the parts catalogue CD.

Anyway, if I remember correctly, you don't even have to remove the whole panel to get to the door handle. Just remove the lower piece that has the speaker cloth grill and the leather pocket; this is done by removing all the small screws at the periphery, and any leather trim at the edge. I think there might be a couple of snap in tabs that will need to be popped off; you can do this by using a large screwdriver. Then just slide the lower panel forward to undo it from a metal lab that holds the mid section of that panel.

Once the lower panel is off, it will expose the 2 bolts that holds the lower part of the door handle. Undo that and the third one at the top and the handle is off. The door latch handle can also be removed by a single screww, which is exposed once the handle is removed.

    Hope I explained it well.

    Regards,

    Alex
