OK had the new F430 for a week or so now. My 99 360 F1 was a great car. But after driving the F430 a while now I must admit it's an amazing feat of engineering. The E-diff is...well, unbelieveable. It's hard to notice at first, but after a few miles in race mode...it's unbelieveable, no other words can describe it. It pulls up slack in corners like crazy, attaches firm in the straight. All I can say is thank god I didn't get the Murci I was originally gonna get. that car felt like it was gonna break loose at any time around corners and whip the backside around. The F430 is so predictable, so resolute in what you want it to do. And the lower end torque really speaks loud. In the 360 I used to love the SPORT mode, but the F430 in race is like hooking up the steroids on Barry Bonds, it's almost unfair. The 360 was fairly easy to engage the traction control, but the F430, it's not so easy, the E-Diff makes up the difference and maximizes the power to the wheels for huge pull without the slip. Turn off the CRT and you are asking loudly for suicide, like Ozzy's old song. But I still prefer the RACE mode. What an amazing car, I will keep it for a while I think... Cudos Ferrari engineers, well done!
