Now that we're nearing the end of the "season" I was taking a look back at the nice events that FoW has put on this year. Just in the last month or so this board has been alive with reports on the recent Summit Point Track Day, the meet at FoW last weekend, and the nice reception held for Admiral Phillips' 500 Mondial. And there were many more earlier in the year. Now, nobody does everything right all the time while pleasing everybody, but this is one area where FoW has been "doing it right" for many years. It's easy and justifiable to give credit to the dealership for providing the facilities and the hospitality. However, it is equally, if not more important to give some credit and appreciation to Redding Finney, the actual person who spends the hours and expends the sweat and effort to plan and put on the events. Sure, he's a bit of a nut (aren't we all), but he's OUR nut. And, he is the guy who has to pick up the phone to order the food, twist the arms of people to help out, set up the tables, lug the gear around, clean up after us, and take out the trash after we all leave. It's not easy work, but Redding approaches it seemingly as a labor of love. Working under the FoW umbrella, Redding has reached out to the entire exotic and Italian car community in our area to build a circle of friendship and camaraderie. My parents drummed into me the importance of saying a simple "thank you" to those who have shown kindness and favor to me. So, if you've enjoyed an event at FoW this year, or even their day-to-day hospitality while simply dropping by, please join me in giving Redding a little pat on the back. So, while the events are winding down this year, we look forward to enjoying more of Redding's magic as the new season opens next year.

I can't agree more!! Redding, Allie and the FMoW crew are top notch. In planning the 500 Mondial event, my Dad's intention was to co-host the event w/ FoW, which meant, at least to us, that we would split the cost w/ FoW. When the event was over, Redding refused to accept anything from us to help cover the cost of the event. He also refused to let us pay for the Mondial's ride home in the FoW enclosed flat-bed rig.

I couldn't agree more! Redding and the rest of the crew at FoW have ALWAYS been so friendly to me and my guests when I've walked in the door. They are a great bunch of people and I will definitely be there for the Appreciation Party.

I would just like to add how much I appreciate Redding's hard work and good nature at all of the events that FOW is involved with. He is a great asset and emissary for FOW. I would like to add that everyone I have personally encountered at FOW and MOB has been very pleasant to deal with.

It is true Redding got a pink slip yesterday...his last day is Nov 7, I beleive. I am truly disapointed to see that management does not understand what a marketing plus he is to the organization. When times are tough, you don't cut your marketing or people who are responsible for bringing business into your establishment.

Redding has passion and committment to the Ferrari/Italian brands and to FOW...this is a huge mistake on the part of management!

This really is a crime. Redding is a great guy and does a wonderful job for all of us in the community as well as for our local dealership. Truly invaluable. I really hope this decision is reconsidered and of course wish Redding the best of luck in whatever comes next.

I think that I speak for all of us in saying that if there is anything I can do for you, Redding, please let me know. I'll be there for you just as you were always there for us over the years!

After my buying experience with FOW, Tam is the on that needs to go.
Redding, today my two daughters ate the Snickers bars you so graciously gave them last week. That was very generous of you, and it put your employer in a favorable light. Which can sometimes be a hard job to do.

Mike, thanks for starting this thread. Your words are a true tribute to a kind and selfless man. Betty and I have known Redding since FOW's "Business Court" address days. He's always been a staunch Ferrari supporter, a great motorhead friend to all of us who deal with FoW, and a big plus to the marketing efforts of FoW whether it be the old FoW newsletter, the superbly run track events, the charity events or support for FCA's events. We were saddened to hear that he has been "let go" as part of an overall downsizing and possible ownership change . . . unfortunately a sign of the times. This thread is a commentary on how much he has meant to all of us and the good that he did for FoW. Everyone, please come to FoW on Nov 15th, 11am to 3pm, for the FCA sponsored lunch to show our appreciation to all the folks at the dealership. I'll do my best to convince Redding to be there!

Bill, I'll mirror your words....... I haven't been in this community as long as you, but Reading has been the one constant in all the FOW events and seemed synonymous with Ferrari. I'm sure they have their reasons. I hope it works out well for them both.

I will try and make the event.

WOW!!!!!! Just when you think they couldn't make another bone headed move, WHAM!!!!!!!!! Maybe if they gave up there over inflated pricing strategies they might actually get a buyer and move some inventory!!!

I am going to try and shut up now.

Redding, you deserve better and I hope everything works out in the future!
