what is the difference between using a normal 360 TCU and a Stradale TCU ? are there any upgrade in performance? hp? shifting speed? respond ?
Many benefits. Starting with the PIS setting being lower so that the clutch engages sooner. I have had both a Stradale TCU and the newer mid-late 2002-05 TCU and I will have to say that the latest firmware update for the TCU or being able to adjust the PSI settings is great. You can have them set it at somewhere from 4.5-5 and have great results. The latest firmware is very adaptive in the right that if you drive normal(cruising) the TCU shifts normally, but if you drive aggressively it'll wake up nicely. This is my personal experiences with both Stradale TCU and regular TCU with latest firmware and lowest possible PIS settings without the vehicle creeping forward(clutch engaging). Hope this helps with your questions. 'D
Setting the PIS properly must surely aid in extending clutch life as well. For that reason alone I'd look into either the 02+ or Stradale TCU if you still have the original (early) version. I don't believe either version of the TCU (upgraded or Stradale) is adaptive though in it's programming. ie: it will never "learn" or "adapt" based on your driving.
