I got this from the 6speed board...can anyone shed light on this ? "This past Wednesday I went to my friend's bday party at Smooths located on Pine Ave in Long Beach. There is a parking garage adjacent to the old Cohiba's/Mum's (now Smooth's) sports bar. As I was parking I noticed the same F40 thats been there for the past 3 years........was wondering if that's anyone on the board? By the way, your passenger side front tire needs some air. Why leave your beautiful car in a public night club parking lot all these years?" Would be strange to say the least..... Time for the FChat sleuths to get on it !
But now the location is published on a public internet forum .... (now where's that flatbed towtruck, I know I have one here somewhere and a free weekend for a road trip...)
Yes, i know but its not like nobody knew about it before. An F40 sitting in a parking garage doesn't go un-noticed for long
I should be in Anaheim on Saturday with my camera and can easily hit up Long Beach on my way home. I just can't believe this story is true, so I am willing to do some investiating if no one else will. My bet is that if this was posted in the SoCal forum instead of here, that someone would either know about this car or would be able to get over there in a few hours instead of a few days. >8^) ER
Problem is that there are a number of parking garages in that area.... 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th, all right off pine. If someone has a more specific location, It would help
I live about 1.5 miles from there. Send me the exact address and I'll go and snap the photos. Ponyboy ---------
Are you going to see 028? Also, can you get the VIN # for me? Its on top of the steering column Cheers Erik
I posted that last Thursday and then didn't end up going to Anaheim, so no side trip to Long Beach. I'm not going to get to see #028. I'm sure you'll see my latest update on that car shortly, if not already by now. >8^) ER
Maybe someone should get the license plate and or vin# (if you can see it) and run the plate? That will for sure let us know who it is. Any thoughts. JP
In french Côte d'Azur, there was a lot of beautiful cars "abandoned" since many years in parking. I have seen myself in 90's : a red BB 512, a red Lamborghini Diablo, many Porsche, even a red Hummer. Most of these cars belonged to Middle East princes who didn't take care of their cars. You can easily recognize these cars by big dust on body and flat tires and always parked in underground parkings.
I took the opportunity to stop by the garage and found the car. To my disappointment, the car is a kit car. I took some pictures and have not had a chance to upload them. I am not even sure how to. If someone would like to post them up, I will be happy to email them to you. [email protected] and I will email them to you.
