Just got a message from Amazon, regarding:

"We're writing about the order you placed on January 03 2009 (Order# ). Unfortunately, the release date for the item(s) listed below has changed, and we need to provide you with a new delivery estimate based on the new release date:

Brian Long "Dino: The V6 Ferrari"
Estimated arrival date: December 05 2012

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this delay." (4 years..........)

Who is Brian Long? Is he really writing a book on Dino?

    Regards, Alberto

    Alberto,

I have had that book on order from about the same time as you. Motorbooks Int'l used to send me deferrment notices like the one you got from Amazon, but they have apparently given up. It's a joke.

    Rgds,
    Dan

Dan, Amazon still believes in good old Brian...
Matthias once told me something about him, but I forget what.
Maybe someone will know more, not that it really matters. I was just curious about how Amazon can make a contract with someone that delays delivery for four(!) years.

    regards, Alberto

I actually have a book by Brian Long, Nikon - A Celebration. From the cover flap: "Brian Long is a professional writer, with around forty books on motoring subjects to his credit. Coming from an engineering background he has been a lifelong fan of photography, and his interests gradually turned from being behind the camera to appreciating what made each model (or lens) special from a technical point of view..."

Forty books is a lot! He must write more than one at a time.

He has quite an impressive list of publications credited to his name. Does not strike me as a fly-by-night type of guy. Possibly Dino, is giving him more of a headache than he expected due to the slight little nuances that Dino presents to the untrained.
That is why, I expect we shall see Matthias' book much sooner than his. :)

I read somewhere that the author is constipated and suffers from writers' bloat and blockage.
