Amazing job. If I didn't keep the seat covers on all the time I would definitely do this. How long does it take?

It took approximately 3 days after I sent the seats to him. It's important to send the whole seat so that he can make sure that everything is perfect. We actually found discrepancies with the factory Daytona seat that we used for a template.....shocking ;~}.

But all joking aside, the person who had done the work has been in the business for 16 years and is meticulous. The photos seriously don't do justice as the craftsmanship is second to none. The leather is perfectly matched and I have an 03 360 Spider. Mind you that everything in my interior is in excellent condition, but still. I am extrememly Happy and would like to pass it along to whoever would like to change their boring Standard Style seats into the Daytona style seats for a fraction of the cost!

P.S. Don't use seat covers Gmast, just throw a small color keyed towel over the part where your Bum goes! It'll save seat wear and can toss it aside when not in the car so that others can admire your fine automobile exterior and interior!

i still don't understand the difference between the stock vs daytona seats. is it just the center insert? It looks like a slightly different pattern but I don't understand why this is worth doing.

I LOVE IT! It looks absolutely OEM!

I'm not in the States though. But can they just make those center sections and send them overseas to me to get it fitted by a cushion specialist?

Big time resale value and coolness factor. People buy a 200k plus car and skimp on the seats, only 2400 additional. Must buy their gas at Costco.

Looks awesome. Great idea and thanks for posting. I have never looked at the standard vs Daytonas side by side... besides the inserts are their any other differences between the two? Ie after this change is it identical to a Daytona or is just the insert section look Daytona?

I'd be interested to know the approx cost of the conversion, if you don't want to post openly I understand (send me a PM).

    Thanks!

There are no differences on the seats other than the inserts. Per sending ov just the cushions and have your upholsterer reinsert them, no problem as they are simply held in by Velcro, front and rear clips and two Hog rings at the top of the back insert, that's it!

The main thing is having an upholsterer who is competent and knows his or her work, a tradesman if you will. After all it is an art working with leather.

If anyone oversees is interested in sending over just the inserts PM me and we can go from there.

Looks very good. Can they add contrast stitching too?

Yes contrast stitching can be added as well. That will add some pop to the inserts.

It's amazing how different the seats look. It looks like they did a great job.

A couple questions: How much of the original seat insert leather was re-used? Did they just add leather stripes on top on the standard seat or did they start from scratch? In the pics the center stripe (that divides the seat back and bottom in half) has creases. I don't think my daytona seats have that crease. Did they put any foam in that stripe or how can they keep it from creasing?

I was wondering the same thing. Apart these creases they look very good indeed.

Don't know if the OP had this firm in mind but Johann at coachtrim.com in Danbury, CT will do the same conversion.. I have been to his shop and he has done work for me and its top notch.

    The web site is impressive.

Actually they are designed exactly the same as we took a Daytona seat apart and yes the original Daytona seats have creases as leather creases, it's leather. If you stretch it that would put too much stress on the seam, hence the give.

I've seen plenty of Daytona seats with variances, I see about 200 + of these vehicles a year at various events

Hmmm.... I believe you, but my seats don't have any creases in the middle stripe.

In one of the pics it shows him cutting a side panel off. I am still trying to figure out if he re-used any of the original leather from the insert or what was going on in that pic.

As per the centers, I talked to our upholsterer and he said that if there needs to be more bolstering he can just add more foam support.

The beauty of this is that he is a perfectionist and the product will be perfect. Thanks for your input as that will be the finishing touch to a great job! :)

Any chance of a rough guide to the cost of having this done please, I have standard black seats in my 360 and would love to change to Daytonas with the red contrast bars.

Derek- For most places in the US, it is about $5K for both seats. Not much more than the option price.
