I enjoy tinkering with my 360. Things like adding on skid plates, shields, clear bra, stereo upgrade and painting my key red. I'm looking for other projects that other 360 owners have done to improve their cars and fulfill the need to tinker.
I got one for you; headlight removal, cleaning, and replacement. Oh boy, that's a good one. Post pics and plenty of instruction and I'll buy you some beer. B~
Marbella, I'm sorry if my statement about the clear bra and the fact that I'm from San Francisco mislead you, but I still would appreciate any ideas from you
So far, Exhaust rims paint calipers stradale bumper stradale skirts hyperflow cats BMC filters tint tips clear bra CF shift knob floor mats lowered the car red key skid plates
IMO: Exhaust Hyperflow cats rear diffuser $300 stradale stripe. Put it on and take it off when you like. Gives the whole car a new look for only $300 Wheels CF interior parts
RayJohns: I have done the alarm antenna extension. It was one of the most rewarding upgrades that fixed the most aggravating problem in my 360. I have followed your thread about DIY timing belt change. I'll PM you on it. Brokenarrow: I'm lucky my 360 does not have the headlamp problem but I was thinking if I did have to clean my headlights, I would try using a Dremel tool with the flexible extension arm and put a foam ball dipped in Invisible Glass on the end. Insert behind the headlamp after removing the bulb and spin away. It might need a control stick like an oil painter uses to prop his brush into position. Porscheracer and $$$+speed: I've been reading about Hypercats and BMC Filters but I don't really understand how they work, what they do or where these parts are located in the engine. What are the benefits, how do they effect performance, how do they effect the exhaust sound, where do you get them and how much to do they cost?
I'm glad you don't have the issue with the headlights. I'm just anal about my cars and it's something I can't live with so I will be resolving the problem soon. I'm recovering from Pneumonia after 4 days in the hospital (my first time ever in a hospital for an illness). I won't be going back! I am a huge dremel fan and have three different dremels for various tasks. I can tell you that the plastic is very easy to scratch and any type of rotational tool will leave scratches no matter how soft the material. I will be removing them as soon as I can muster the strength. I will have an extensive thread on it as soon as I get into it. I'm very interested in the antenna thread as my alarm remote works like crapola. I'll be looking for that one.... B~
how about some carbon fiber and L.E.D. lighting for the engine when you press "P" button ? also replace parking lights with LED's Aluminium dead pedal looks better than the rubber original skid plates as soon as I can get a drill under the car. Here is the thread on how to extend the alarm range: Extend Alarm range: http://74.86.28.138/~ferrari/forum/showthread.php?t=111841&page=4
Wow, LED's for the engine is a great idea. How did you do it? What type of LED fixture and how do you hook it up to the ignition? Does it cause a glare at night? There is a thread on attaching the skid plates using 3M double sided black foam tape. Works perfectly and allow the plates to sheer off upon major impact and not tear off a chunk of the bumper. Your red interior looks fantastic!
Hey Ron, haven't seen your car, any photos? How about front and rear Challenge Grilles, Tubi exhaust?
I already have Challenge Grilles front and rear and also a Capristo exhaust. You are right about the pictures. I have not published a photo of my 360 yet. I'm waiting until I finish all the fun upgrades before I take photos. I am planning to do an "official" photo session next week with a professional photographer, my son. In the meantime here is a quick shot... Image Unavailable, Please Login
HyperFlow cats. 15-20hp, in the bag. Here are some recent dynos we did on porsche_racer's car. Please note, the word 'test pipes' on the chart is misleading... the 'after' run was with HyperFlow cats. There was a 12-degree ambient temperature increase between the first pull and the second pull, so I expect this chart is conservative. The dyno was overseen by Damian Forbes from Fusion Motors (ferrari-tech, on Fchat). Image Unavailable, Please Login
I read about how to apply the clear bra and I have a lift in my garage. I thought about doing it myself since I have very steady hands, I'm a sculptor. However I decided to let a professional do the work next week.
I would strongly advise that.......I too have a lift, very steady hands, but doing a clear bra properly needs months of practise, plus it needs at least two professional applicators. A single person will never be able to fit a clear bra on his own. And fitting a clear bra on a black car, is completely a different story.
I am begining to really hate you guys.. This is becoming a ferrarichat project forum. RayJohns, I read your posting about extending the range of the 360 alarm keyfob... tried it, in 15 min, I was back in business, it worked perfectly as you described! Thanks I also tried painting my keys red, that also worked nicely Finally, I cant remember who posted the three 360s with the factory, tubi and capistro exhausts.. but after hearing that video, I ended up getting a tubi and I love the sound! This is their original video that was posted.. http://media.putfile.com/Ferrari-exhaust-demo I will have to upload my own video soon..
Thank you, but I can't take much credit for that. Chris (nt6d) really deserves all the credit for that one. I just posted a few pretty pictures on the thread after following his lead: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=111841 It's a great mod for the 360 to be sure! There are few things more aggravating than having to stand 5 feet from your $150,000 car to work the alarm Ray
I pulled the cover off and could see the red wire peeking out. All I did was pull it out and thread it through the holes (Ray holes) and all done. Easy as pie. Thx~
