Any good links or tech info to read up on. Need to know all about the system, including shock internal operation. Any particular common problems to look for... Reason to ask, I have a problematic car in and I've never had a problem with one before.......
Phil, The F40 lifting system is pretty bullit proof, there are only a couple of things that come to mind, one being the adjustment of the potentiometers that are mounted on the anti-roll bars was pretty crucial and I remember that on the early cars if they were left standing for, say 10 - 12 weeks the suspension would sometimes drop to the extent that it would dump the oil out of the tank and then the solution to let the suspension "recover" was to short circuit the low pressure switch and reill the system. To prevent this happening there was a modified ECU that overcame this problem. I don't have much technical info on the wet suspension on the F40, but will have a look and see what I can find.
Phil, Just found the technical information from Ferrari reference the problem with the suspension dropping, it's pretty much as I said, but goes into more detail - and as it's quite a lot of info I have e-mailed it to you.
Try getting in contact with the people at DK Engineering. I think there web address is http://www.ferrari-servicing.co.uk or http://www.dkeng.co.uk I had a similar problem suspension related and they were really helpful. They had the parts i needed from a vehicle they had in breaking and the engineers spent the tiemtalking me through the problem too.
