I am going to the Ferrari Factory in October. I was told to stay at either the Planet Hotel or the Maranello Palace. Does anyone have an opinion on these hotels? Any extra advice would also be greatly appreciated... must sees/do's etc.

There is also the Domus which has been there forever, now I think it advertises under the Best Western chain. The Planet has suites with view of the factory or Fiorano, so my advice if you can get a nice suite is to stay there and also it is within walking distance of the museum.
    Enjoy your stay.

Its this weeks what to do in Maranello thread !

Funnily enough this question has been asked before and there are various threads about the hotels and other things to do in the area including which other factories and workshops and musea to visit - one chap even put all the data in one place once....

There is a great bed and breakfast in Castlvetro di Modena, a tiny ancient hilltop town about 15 minutes from Maranello. It is called Locanda Del Feudo, 39-059-708711. I have stayed there and I can say it's beautiful. You will need a car though to get to Maranello.

There is no noubt in my mind: Take the Planet Hotel. I've stayed there 3 times, and you can easily be lucky to stay with some of the Ferrari-celebrities. This July my family and I got the suite just after Kimi Räikkönen - and we had breakfast with Luca Badoer one morning.

Definitely try to book a room in the Planet Hotel. The factory is right across the street and if you get a room on the top floor, you have view on the Fiorano track :)

Rooms are only around 100 euros a night.

I wouldn't recommend the Domus Hotel in Maranello, I've stayed there for 2 nights and 3 nights in the Planet Hotel - planet hotel is 10 times better...better location and MUCH better rooms, also better breakfast.

not to mention, there are tons of ferrari employee's running around the place all day. very cool to see all the uniformed guys walking in and around the hotel. employee parking is behind the hotel if i remember. also the staff at the planet are exceptional.
