    I ordered the new brass part rc348 to fix the recirc flap. My flap was just lying in the airbox. I can't find a thread about taking things apart to install the new shaft. Anyone have any instructions or pics to guide me through the job???

    Hi, Ben; Just going by memory (I fixed mine about six years ago), you have to remove the entire trunk lining (not difficult), then remove the flap servo from the front of the housing, then just slip the new part onto the shaft and reassemble. You have to make sure that the flap is correctly "clocked" onto the servo so that the flap opens when the motor turns, and the fresh air and recirculate modes operate as intended. The flap servo motor is item #23 in this diagram.

    I'm dealing with the trunk liner now... Do I have to remove the entire liner?? what a PIA. Also I notice a missing fuse. On the passenger side of the car there is a fuse holder in front of the black relay with a white dot on top??? any ideas?

    never mind on the fuse.. found my answer with a quick search.. but about that liner... the whole thing comes out??? yuck

    Yup, the whole thing comes out. It's only attached with Phillips screws. It's easier for me (little guy) to just climb into the trunk to take the screws out. And of course it's quicker to use the power screwdriver. You have to be a little bit careful easing it out around the front hinges, but it's better than just yanking it out. There is a wire going to the trunk light on the drivers side, it just unplugs. You can do it!

    I wish I would have come back up to read your last post. It would have been so much easier to stand IN the trunk.... oh well live and learn. All done and buttoned back up.. tested and working fine. The hardest part of the whole job was fear of the unknown taking it apart and putting the metal trim strips in the trunk back on .... its hard to see where the holes are...
    I turned on the ignition and set the a/c to outside air so the motor would be in the proper place since the flap was hanging open. The shaft did not line up exactly but from what I read the motor simply runs for a set time limit anyway. Once assebled I tested it both ways and all seems to be perfect.

    Thank you again for all the help.

    PS checked on my wiper issue while it was all open. Didn't see any issues. I may just be over sensitive since the car is new.
