After some considerable deliberation I finally decided to follow Nike's slogan and "just do it." After searching high and low I finally found the car I was looking for - a yellow 550 Maranello.

My criteria required a car as close to a twin brother - color combination, condition, and mileage-wise - as I could find to my 360. The Capristo beast now has a "mature" (and quieter) brother! :)

I drove it about 30 miles this weekend. As close as the cars are performance-wise they are very different in terms of execution. More seat time will be required for me to detail the differences but initially you can feel the differences in weight, torque, and just the way each car puts the power down. I have to admit that I understand why Maranello owners love their cars! Anyway, more to follow later ... :)

    Congrats Jeffrey!

I remember when these were the two yellow hotties in your garage! Now you have Yellow Hottie Number 3. What can this mean for Yellow Hottie Number 2....

    Enjoy!

Awesome!! It all makes sense now when you responded to the Haus of Pizza thread indicating that you are bringing a 550.
    Time for Capistro L3 upgrade??

Kevin - Yellow hottie 2 will not suffer the same fate as yellow hottie 1 did! :) YH 2 is a keeper! Who knows ... I might be in the (very) early building stages of an Armen-type garage with one exception - ALL yellow cars! :) It means that one of these days Armen is going to have to sell that yellow 456 to me and maybe YH 1 will have to be bought back!! :)

Trieu - In this particular case I think a L3 Capristo would be too much. The 550 is too refined for that kind of treatment. I will definately do something with the exhaust as it needs something more than stock but not as much as a Capristo.

By the way ... if any of you know someone who is looking for an immaculate perfect example of a 2002 Mercedes CL55 with a full Lorinser kit - please PM me. It does not have a single scratch, ding, dent or imperfection anywhere. Everything looks almost as new as the day it left the showroom. 24k miles. I'm asking $67k obo.
