I don't know if you need to change your career because your approach in dealing with the public, people and fellow auto enthusiasts lacks decorum and openness. Some on this site own, others don't, some rich w/ monies other with the love of life and passion for automobiles. Yet, all enjoy automobiles and at this forum Ferrari carries the marque.
It would never occur to me to sign on to a forum, not introduce myself, inquire about others means and expect valuable input. Change your tact in dealing with people and the successes of your career will follow and hence your objective to reap the rewards.

    Make sense?

When dealing with the rich one must be formal , excuse my blue collar-ness. Just a simple question to begin with. So if you don't care to answer it, please keep your over analytical comments to your board meetings. If this post has been discussed over and over again, then let it fall to the back of the boards instead of posting, and hence forth keeping it near the top.

Well, what Gershwin has said above has to be true....he well known and respect in these neck of the woods.

I didn't come from much and still trying to make a buck a day. I just worked hard to own my cars that I have had....nothing given to me. I do most if not all the work on my own car so if you shake my hands...expect them to be dirty at times...LOL! The car doesn't make the person...the person makes the car.

Don't be silly. You aren't dealing with the "rich" here. You are dealing with "car guys".
I'm not rich, most of us aren't. We choose to "prioritize" our expenditures to persue what we like, mine happens to be cars with Ferrari first.

If you want a Ferrari go to school and take some classes in business and finance, LEARN HOW TO MAKE MONEY or you'll end up like me, working for somebody else but remember, MONEY IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR INTELLIGENCE AND CLASS.

Learn some people skills, you'll go further in life with a decent set of morals and good friends. STAY AWAY FROM DRUGS and don't make booze your prime source of entertainment.

My 20 year old nephew just bought his second BMW, an M3, all on his own. I have no doubt he'll have a Ferrari before he is 30.

Haha no ones answered the question in the least. I'll go first; I'm an HVACR Service technician in southwest ohio, and don't bother defending how hard you work, the harder you work the less you get paid. lol

Well Guys, I wasn't really asking for carreer advice, I was genuinely interested in what you do for a living. And It doesn't bother me if no one wants to respond to my question but don't judge me based on one sentence of what I said in a joking manner. Maybe you guys are "car guys" but I've never heard any type of car guy say half the words Gershwin threw out.

Haha , let me guess your a guidance councellor ? j/k. Well first of all I have great people skills, and i am very intelligent, now I don't exactly know what class is ha. I choose not to act up tight when I'm not talking to people about money or buisness. 90% of what I say on here will be in a joking manner, please stop giving me life lessons, I'm fully capable of handling my life. (Closing on my first house next week at the ripe old age of 20, very excited by the way)

First you stated that we all have ridiculous amounts of cars and money on your first post ever. Where does that assumption come from? All of the respondents to your rhetoric question, including myself, own just 1 sports car. Out of the thousands of F-chat members, I am sure that over 90% own just 1 "toy" at a time. There are some with incredible collections on F-chat, but most are car lovers that are happy to own one and take pride in owning a dream.
Instead of being so forward and trying to dive into peoples personal life on your first question, maybe you should sit back and follow the forums for a while and participate regarding cars.
As stated before, the "search" can be a valuable tool as well.

    You STILL don't get it.
Maybe if you LISTENED to others' advice you won't be raked over the coals on a car website.
BTW, my nephew is also intelligent but he is also POLITE, WELL MANNERED AND RESPECTFUL (Hint hint).

In answer to your question, It's not necessarily what you DO for a living that makes you successful, it's HOW you live your life hence the free advice on how to act like a GROWNUP.

Ooops, sorry, I'll retract the previous statements. I remember when I was 20. I had all of the answers then too. As I got older I just got dumber and dumber. You're the man, carry on.......................

    Hi Jerry,
Yeah I know, I'm bored at work. Thought I would do some surfing.

I had the carbs rebuilt last winter, runs like brand new. They did a great job on set-up/ sync. Going on a 3 day with the club around the Olympic Penninsula this weekend

When are you coming out west again?:p:p

The only thing I don't get is why people are still posting advice on how to live my life when I clearly never asked. And who is your nephew again ? Thats right, he's irrelevant to this topic. I judged no one in my post, Asked an apparently too personal question in a joking manner and was attacked/judged/and told how to act. I apparently should have specified "10% of you have boat loads of cars and loads of money" because no one ever generalizes anything anywhere for the sake of conversation. If you have something to say to me not pertinent to this topic then I'd be happy to talk over PM's. I am not being the know-it-all, I asked a question and you all are telling me how things are/should be.

Hey newbie, you act like my ten year old bro. If you think we all have money, here is $50 go knock yourself out. If you spend this much time b***hing, you definetly have time to shut your big mouth up and read profiles. If you have people skills why do you still work as a service tech? Maybe you and dan cerviensomethingbecausehesaloserey join the low-life club

Well, a few members here fake that they are in the market for a car and that they have tons of cash. But for some reason it is found that they live at home and at 22 still have their mothers still do their laundry. But I would not name names.

Oh they even get their own cards!!!

I have a feeling that the reminders are gonna last a while.

OK...I'll bite on this topic. First off let me tell you that I don't own a Ferrari or, at this point, any sports car. I have a passion for them, however, at this stage in my life there are things that take precidence. If you check out my profile you will see that I am a Funeral Director and part owner of a family firm. I work ridiculous hours (shoulda been a OB/GYN for the amount of time that I get out of bed and go to work at 3 in the morning) and am compensated reasonably well for it, however I would imagine that the majority of the members here make as much or more than I do.

As you will see, if you stick around long enough, is that there are many people here on this forum from all walks of life; doctors, lawyers, public safety officers, and yes funeral directors too. The one thing that we share is a passion for fine automobiles. Do I own one of these yet? No. Will I own one? Probably. Will it be in the next few months? Let's just say I am not calling down to Miami to arrange a PPI in Orlando in the next few months. (sorry for the shot Dan, couldn't pass it up). Do all the members here own exotics? That answer is probably pretty obvious.

Mike328 wrote a GREAT thread about how you should conduct yourself on your first few posts, I suggest that you read it and then rethink how you phrased your first post.

Let me welcome you aboard, if you are serious about love of cars this is a great place. If you want career advice I would suggest www.monster.com.
