Just new to this board and thought you might like to have a look at my toy room.
Most cars are kits built by me. Some are store bought diecast. I'm sure you will be able to pick them out.
All the artwork was done by myself in various medias.
The 275 is a Revell 1/12 scale kit a friend found at a yard sale,, paid a whole buck for it too. Took me 2 months to build it.

    Enjoy

    Steve

Looks like a great toy room!

Is that the Ikea glass shelved, lighted case?

Yeah I think everyone has that Ikea case.... I just wish it was dustproof.

Very nice collection psod! That 1:12 275 is sweet - just find some high qulaity laced Borranis and that is a top model!

Ive shown this pic before, but I'll share it again. I customized my Ikea case by welding steel rods in between the existing ones which support the glass shelves. This effectively doubled my display space. This pic shld make it clear:

You did a nice job on the Revell GTB. Paint looks very good and all round quality buildup.

That was some luck getting it so cheaply--the last time I was following Ferrari models on ebay those were trading at $100+, and rarely came up for sale.

Impressive collection! Did you build up the street rods as well?

It took me several times to clear that model. I have nice spray booth but with a car that size any little speck of dust shows. Probably 5 shots of clear with wet sanding between each. I'm a custom painter and too much of a perfectionist.
If you see the green 57 Chevy, I did that,, love the colour.

thanks for the replies. Everytime I have a party and someone new comes by, my friends are itching for my to show them,, love seeing the expressions.

Greg, Great Idea! I have the same Ikea glass shelf. By the looks of my growing 1:18 Collection, I might have to custom build a glass wall display cabinet (dust proof) 10'x8'x3', that should be enough...

On the top shelf in the case, how are those 1/43's (i assume) displayed? did you attach or add a shelf in there? Or is it a poster? I'd like to do something similar.

Hi Chris... sorry I didnt catch this thread sooner. I did scratch-make a smaller "rack" for the 1:43 muscle cars using 3/16 steel rod, thin glass shelves, and a lexan base. I soldiered the rods into 2 ladder shapes to support the glass shelves, and then drilled holes into the lexan to keep the ladders upright. Hopefully these pix will make sense of what Im saying...

In all I think I spent less than 25 dollars in materials and a couple hours of my time, but I wanted something to fit perfectly inside the Ikea cabinet both vertically and horizontally.
