I sold my magnetic shields and purchased a pair of adhesive shields. Can anyone help me with placement on an '89 T Cabriolet? Is there a proper place or did you guys just trial and error it?
    Thanks,
    Ron

    Ron,

Whatever looks good to you is 'proper placement'!

I don't believe you could order a Mondial from the factory with shields, so there is no criteria for 'proper'.

get pics of my Mondial-T cabriolet yoshi shield placements.
got rid of the magnetics too because they looked too cheesy.

yoshi does a nicer job, BUT ones on.....you had better make sure that's where you want them.

talked to yoski a few weeks ago, and he suggested best take off technique was glue remover and a string[like floss]....he says he pays a lot for the tape.

I have/am currently experimenting with a magnetic attachment of the yoshi shileds using very strong rare earth magnets from the inside of the wheel well.

I've used galvi-flashing of very thin format, onto yoshi shields leaving about 1/2 inch on all edges open...that is, the flashing leaves a buffer of yoshi's tape of 1/2" on edges. then got some very thin rubberized tape [almost like electrical tape, but no shrinkage...home depot] and places across all backside covering the flashing: protects paint. Magnets holding real well, but, still experimenting with how many and where to make sure it hold very well.

placement, like prev. post: go with the flow, but yoshi says 1.25" from top crease, on trailing crest edge, 1.50 on leading crest edge, and [if i remember] about 6" from side qtr panel where door meets.
