Well I am sure most SF residents in here already know this, but i happened to see the location of a new Ferrari Store today just south of Union Square on Stockton at Market.

Right across from the Apple iMac store.

I have been up and down that part of Stockton several times in the past week and i would have thought i would have seen the "Opening Spring of 2008" signs in the windows before, so i am not sure if the signs went up recently or i just missed them the other times i walked past.

Looks to be a good location with a nice entrance and window display potential. Not sure on the depth of the store but i would guess atleast 2500-3000 square feet of floorspace.

"Forza opened its first Ferrari store six months ago in Los Angeles. While Forza Retail president Joel Herman said it's still too early to comment on sales figures, he is very pleased and expects that store's success to be repeated in San Francisco."

Too early to comment == ****ty. 6 months is plenty of time, they're tanking.

An actual dealership in SF proper would rock, this is just silly.

I just got back from the Wynn - the store is like Ferrari heaven. They have Ferrari snow skis (didn't see the price), Ferrari skateboards ($200), Ferrari jeans ($225), Ferrari T-shirts ($105), Ferrari watches ($11,000), stuffed animals, models, jackets, wallets, luggage, memorabilia, calendars. I can't believe I got out of there with less than a hundred light.

I had started another thread on this recently and was given the info for this link. THANKS to "def" Kevin. So I will let the other thread die and keep this one (The Original) going if possible.

I spoke with the person who is possibly to be the Manager of the SF Market store, and he is going to keep me up to date. I will keep everyone informed as to what info comes my way.

It's a cool idea, but does anyone else feel that all the merchandising cheapens the brand?

Absolutely Not! I Believe it helps the company to acheive a higher goal of producing THE BEST cars in the world and gets the support of the public that hopes to someday buy these Beautiful Automobiles.

I have mixed feelings about that. . .When I was a biker, I used to laugh at the Harley-Davidson "dealerships" that held TWO motorcycles and 2,000 square feet of H-D merchandise - mostly novelties.

On the other hand, I do own a few Ferrari models, a Ferrari watch, some books, posters, and calendars, and cologne. So, yeah, I'll probably stop in and drop a few C-notes.

Accounts for over 25% of total revenues for the company. You think it's cheapened? If anything is helps infuse and spread the passion and folklore.

    Mike,

I was walking by about one week ago and the store has not opened yet. I am in the area every week or so and will keep you updated.

I think for the Grand Opening they should close off the street and invite a bunch of us to come show our cars. Maybe make it a charity event.

Here's the price for the skis and probably another $500 for the boots.

Big price, but they do include the bindings. I would guess the boots are closer to 750.00.

It is just marked up because it is the Ferrari Store. That is why it is at the Wynn

For those who have been wondering - WTF! about this - I just got an update for the store on Monday. Basement had to be re-designed do to Bart running under it. Possibility of a November opening. Also a possibility of Ferraristore.com for the U.S. being run out of the same location.
