In the last 5 years, the early 911S cars have been "discovered" and a registry was formed. Attached is their logo, which I believe was made by Chuck Miller. As a decal it looks beautiful on the window of any 911S. It took about 30 years for the great unwashed to recognize the 911S was something special and the result is prices have shot up substantially.

Has anyone started a CS registry?

If not, I would like to get the ball rolling and maybe in time, someone with more skills could take it over.

    This is what I envision:

    1. A window decal, such as the Early 911S Registry decal shown below.
This image could also be created on T-shirt, hats etc.

    2. Locating all the 353 CS cars in the USA and make a log of their exterior color, interior color, options, stripe etc. Actually this log has already been created in excel by various folks. But everyone's info needs to be pulled together in a massive update.

    3. An ambitious but marvelous idea would be a hardback book with a photo of every single one of the 353 USA CS cars. The F105 Thunderchief won enormous respect in combat over North Viet Nam. Someone then made a book with a photo of every one of the 833 F105 aircraft. So it is doable.

    4. Ideally, and I don't understand the expense or ramifications of this idea, a Model Specific CS Discussions site on FerrariChat.

Please offer your comments, opinions, level of interest etc.

We don't need to wait 30 years to be "discovered".

Gene, have you done anything besides the log?
Would be great to hear of any ideas you have to form a CS Registry.

Here is URL for Early 911S Registry.
I'm not saying we need to duplicate this. It is just an example of what
the Porsche guys have done with a unique car.

I'm also not suggesting a club with dues and politics. Just a place where CS information is consolidated without wading through info on other non-CS model Ferraris.

The value of a registry now, IMHO, is to collect data on all 353 cars before they are spread to the winds. It will help both sellers and buyers and be educational for both owners and admirers.

I would be happy to help...

I have an ad agency and publishing company. I can have one of our art directors come up with a few logos.....our web developers can help set up a website if necessary. We also do Motorsports publishing including books. We've done the Grand Am annual hardcovers and books for NASCAR as well.

    Let me know....might be fun.

Brian, Thanks for your offer. You have exactly the resources that could move this project forward.

I think a one-step-at-a-time approach might work well towards getting a CS registry up and running.

I think your lads creating a logo would be a great first step. It's not wise to constrain artists and creators, but I would suggest starting with the CS stripe as in inspiration for a logo. IMHO, the logo would use Red, Green, White.

The number of people wanting a CS logo decal (after they see it) might reflect the level of interest and participation for a CS Registry.

Next step might be a ball hat with the CS Registry logo. We could probably get by remanufacturing something similar to the factory CS hat, but with the CS Registry Logo.

I do have an update to this to post when I have the time to tidy everything up. I do also have details of a good number of non-US cars that I need to sort through when time permits, if anyone is interested.

I'll get something cooking. Logos typically take a couple days....

Funny to see this thread, I have been working on something for a bit. I currently registered a domain and finished a logo. I think that we could work on this as a group.

    Good Work!

It will be interesting to see if other logos are offered so that we have some choices.

I will have all avaliable data posted on website in the next few weeks for everyone to share.

I am thinking of putting together CS owners reunion next year at FCA Annual Meeting at Watkins Glen. I may have very helpfull people within FCA that can help get this event going if we have enough interest. Dinner, gifts, track time and more.

    Let me know your thoughts.

    Thank you.
