Check out this car: http://www.wmslv.com/detail-2000-ferrari-360_modena-f1~sunroof~records~mint-4447528.html Anyone know anything about this car? they say the sunroof is factory-pretty cool! Steve
Here is one in black. Caught my eye till I saw the sunroof. http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp?tracktype=usedcc&csDlId=&csDgId=&listingId=28150828&listingRecNum=13&criteria=sf1Dir%3DDESC%26mkId%3D20014%26stkTyp%3DU%26mdId%3D20420%26rd%3D100000%26crSrtFlds%3DstkTypId-feedSegId-mkId-mdId-clrId%26zc%3D19317%26rn%3D0%26PMmt%3D1-1-0%26stkTypId%3D28881%26clrId%3D27123%26sf2Dir%3DASC%26sf1Nm%3Dprice%26sf2Nm%3Dmiles%26rpp%3D50%26feedSegId%3D28705&aff=national
The sunroof can actually be stowed behind the seats as long as you don't have the hi-fi option with the subwoofer enclosure. The negative about the roof is that the interior height is reduced by about 1.5 inches to accomodate the attachment hardware. So if you are tall from the waist up that might be a small issue. I actually test drove a red 360 with the sunroof. It was nice sunny day and I really enjoyed the open sunroof. It is a fairly expensive option too.
Wow... this is the coolest thing... may not be practical though if u cannot stow it properly.... does it fit behind the seats or under the front hood (because of the shape) Does it add to car price as an option? cheers
Some old pictures from April 6, 2004. A tan 360 that was for sale at Miller Motorcars in Greenwich, CT. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have a 360 with a sunroof.. I have stowed it in numerous places. It fits behind the seats, in the passenger floorboard(removed at a redlight), in the trunk and left behind in the garage when there's no chance of rain. I love the option and its funny anyone even mentions resale on these cars anymore.. I've had it for 3 years and if I sold it today I would lose >40k. I don't think the sunroof makes a bit of difference, especially since I like it so much. I wish they made 430's with it, I would search one out to have the option.
Sorry this may be a slightly drunken rant but WHAT THE F**K is that !!????????? Why the hell would anyone want to do that/have that ? I am all for everyone having their own opinion and not being the same and following the crowd etc etc etc but why the hell would anyone ruin a perfectly good 360 coupe but cutting a huge hole in the roof ?? If you wanted the wind in your hair, get a spyder. As many have said, re-sale - schm-sale but jesus H christ how could you expect to get more than 11 bucks for a car that you've cut a gaping hole in the roof of ? As I said, sorry if this is druken rant but that really is the most revolting thing I think I've ever seen to wear the Stallion badge (the sultan's 456 estate aside). **leaves to throw up**
Wolf, the sunroof on the 360 was an option ordered through the factory. Not many people ordered the sunroof option; it's rare, and to those who like it, it's added value. I don't know if anyone's ever actually cut into the roof of a 360 Modena, but the pictures in this thread all show the factory sunroof option.
like I said, sorry for the druken-ness of previous post - what I wanted to clarify was that even if it was a factory option why would you ? If you want wind in your hair go for the spider. IMHO (which is all it is before I get shot) I cant see why you'd want to put a roof in a coupe. It ruins the lines, lets in no more wind/sun/noise than dropping the window and (again IMO) looks like it came out of a Honda Civic. My point being that I think that even if it is a factory option, it cheapens the look of the car. - Just my $0.02.
2 reasons I didn't get a spider are less chassis flex of the car(more trackable) and I like having the sun shine through with out being out in the open as in the spider. I really don't see how anyone compares it to a Honda civic, Hondas have glass retractable roofs. I don't know of any honda with a removable roof section? Oh, and IMHO, drunk posting doesn't make you cool.
as I stated, just my opinion - everyones allowed them. You want a sunroof, you go ahead and have a sunroof, I hope it completes you. If you cant understand someone else's POV or appreciate someone else'e opinion then why belong to a forum ? and who said anything about drunken posting being cool ??? -get back in your box. I posted my initial comment whilst enjoying a bottle (or maybe two) of wine with the wife - last time I checked this wasnt against the law..
I quite enjoyed my sunroof. From the outside it does not ruin the lines of the car, you can barely notice it. Yes, from the inside it looks a bit cumbersome but I tended to focus my attention on driving rather than looking at the sunroof. In the climate I live in (Spain) it was fantastic. I'm not a fan of convertibles, I feel too exposed so I disagree with your opinion that if you want the wind through your hair buy a convertible.
