    Good day

need to remove the rear side panels covering the belt rewind mech of an 87 Euro TR.

Have no idea how these panels are fixed.

    Any hint ?

    Tks

    Gianni,
I used the procedures below to remove my panels, they are on a USA TR but I'm pretty sure the steps are basically the same. When it refers to the "mouse track cover" on a non-US car thats just the leather trim piece across the top of the door. I'll post some pics too so you can see where the mounting tabs are (again may be slightly different on Euro TR).

This was actually posted by Shamile quite a while back:

First, pull the OEM door seal (haha...TR forum joke ) slowly away from the handbrake pull release area all the way up the door just where the quarter window starts.

Just above the trim that goes across the package shelf is a little quarter trim piece. It's only held by the leather wrapping around the door edge (clamped down by the door seal) Once you remove that you will see two screw mounts....undo.

    Don't pull just yet....

Just above the door, you will see the mouse belt track leather cover. Where the track cover meets the quarter leather cover (upper part of door window edge) pull it forward. It's held by plastic push pins....slowly!

You do not need to remove the whole trim...just around the quarter window area. Once you pull the push pins off, lift slightly and you will see a tab come out of the leather panel just under the quarter window. This will expose the third and final mounting screw.

Once the screws are out, pry the panel sideways (towards the passenger side but stay straight... do not pull out towards the front of the car. On that panel is a little rectangular trim panel that sits under the quarter window. This piece is attached to the main panel you are trying to remove. Once it clears the mouse track, you can then pull forward and out.

That should get your panels out. The small kidney shaped panel is leather-wrapped plastic but all the others are aluminum and bend very easily so be very gentle with them.

Good luck, send me a PM if you need any more help. Also, if you do a search someone (Jim Baldwin maybe) removed his entire interior and he did a thorough posting of where all the hidden trim screws are for all the pieces.

Last photo is interior with panel removed and location (I think) where the Euro retractors bolt on.
