I think he bought another one after he got the money. I also heard some where that his son was the one that wrecked it.

I grew up around that area, and I knew Mike Tyson had a huge house in Farmington with lots of cars. It got sold to 50 cent.

I am guessing the Enzo owner was from the Avon Mountain area. (Deer Drive I think they called it.)

Four of those shots show Don Wallace's Enzo that was 'totalled'. The one with the side piece missing behind the door is not the same car.

Wallace's car was apparently paid off by the insurance company as a total loss, but was then purchased at some point by Shelton Ferrari who have managed to reconstruct it. I'm not sure if the work is completed, but I heard they had managed to source all the parts and were in process.

Anyone want to buy an Enzo with a salvage title?? :D

I had a shot of it after teardown in the Shelton restoration shop, but it appears lost on my HD at the moment. I'll try to secure another copy from the source to share.

Spoke to Shelton Ferrari and was told the owner of the car is trying to reverse the salvage title legally !

    Is this technically possible ?

I mean if one can just reverse a salvage title...then why in the first place is it termed salvage in the first place ???

It happens all the time with wrecked cars. I've seen it alot when looking for E30 M3's (alot have been in crashes). If the car is repaired to "street legal" quality again, its possible to have a title re-instated. I think (i may be wrong) that the salvage title stays on the cars record though. So if you looked it up on carfax it would say "salvage title issued" and then further down something like "new title issued". I believe it is required if you are purchasing a car from out of state and bringing it in. Once again, i'm not sure about all the facts, but thats what i've been led to believe.

So people know the car has been in a crash

Here's the photo - sorry for the delay. I heard that the car is nearly complete now. I don't know about the title, but it happens all the time with salvaged vehicles. You can transfer the car to a different state and "clean" the title by registering it there.

Make sure you run a CarFax I guess. ;)

the car actually made the LA Times when they did a write-up on wreckedexotics. It was a small article but it said the owner of it owned RV Dealership(s) and his son took it out and totalled it, I believe he lost control and hit a building.

assuming he bought the Enzo at msrp he nearly doubled his money with that insurance payout. Then lets say he bought one from a dealership used for around 1.2 million, that means he still made almost 200 grand off his idiot son. But still, it will never be HIS Enzo from Ferrari.

I was told that the bill was several hundred thousand dollars to repair the car. What strikes me as odd, is that normally a car is only 'totalled' when the amount of the repairs exceeds 70% of its value. Since there was clearly not that much damage to this particular car - especially if you base that on market value and not MSRP - I wonder why it was written off? Maybe the owner had some kind of replacement insurance policy on the car? I don't know...
