does anyone already have it? Q. is the new console able to play the "old" games such as Forza or Gotham 2? or even better is there any how to run the "new" Gotham 3 into the "old" console? impresions on the all new Project Gotham Racing 3 anyone? compared to the old one? P.S. is Bugatti Veyron in the PGR 3 game?
Yes, technically, you can play the old games, but in practice, it's useless because you can't transfer over the original game saves. In other words, you can play Forza MotorSport, but you have to start over without any of your cars. I was dissapointed with PGR3, so much so that I sold it on ebay after a week. I have yet to find a "killer app".
I'm still waiting for the XBox 360 to become available at its official price. Also still waiting for a steering wheel, have a Madcatz on back order. Microsoft really screwed the pooch on this. By the time the XBox is readily available, PS3 will hit the market. Talk about a lost opportunity to get an early lead.
The other way round: You can play some of the old games on the new console, but you can't play the new games on the old console.
PGR3 takes some getting used to - but is a decent "arcade style" game IMO. So far, I think Call of Duty 2 is the best game for the console. Also, if you get it, make sure you hook it up to HDTV - makes a huge difference.
I have and love it. Hey damcee I haven't seen you on online but I do like PGR3 and I have every Ferrari on it. Plus a of the same car in choice colors. They just about nailed the Ferrari's in sound but the Gallardo is dead on.
i have it and love it. PGR3 is a very good game. its meant to be an arcade game and isnt as realistic as some others. the graphics and sound are unreal! i cant imagine some1 who likes cars or racing games would ever sell this in a week. you get to start with very fast cars (my first car was an ultima gtr) and the cars only get better. i am looking forward to a forza coming out for this tho which should be more realistic. i also have call of duty 2 which is a must have... even people i kno who dont like war games loved playing it! other games i have are need4speed most wanted and perfect dark which are both pretty good but not as good as the other 2. only regular xbox game ive played on it so far has been halo2. there is a list of games that are backward compatible here http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardcompatibilitygameslist.htm i dont see pgr2 listed but forza is.
Probably a good thing, IMHO. You should visit xbox forum at www.xbox.com , You'll see that there are plenty of problems with the initial batch of Xbox 360s, both mechanical and with connection to xbox live (which is essential!) Apparently, in the rush to get it out before Xmas, they put out an inferior product. That being said, Ive had mine since launch day on Nov/22, and havent had any real problems, other than the occasional freeze up, and some intermitant connection issues with live. Still, if it was me, I'd wait until March or so before buying, and making sure it is a relatively newer example.... Don't bet the boat on that! Although no-one really knows exact dates, most sources agree that the PS3 is a while away, at least 6 months to a year....it'll be lucky to see it out before next christmas....biggest reason? The HD DVD drive is a new production unit, hard to make it in large numbers as of yet, and there are STILL no commercial HD DVD drives out there yet.... Most game system manufacturers have historically lied to the public regarding release dates of game systems....just so you might delay a potential purchase of a competiters product. They always claim a date well in advance of the actual release date...unless they are first to arrive with a "next generation" system, then it's in there best interests to be honest, LOL!!, what a buisness!!!
I noticed the current listings on ebay often mention that their XBoxes are from the new batch etc, so yes, I definitely would want one with the first issues sorted. Since PGR3 is currently the only game I want to play on it I can wait as steering wheels are equally hard to get. Thanks for the update on PS3. I thought it was going to be released in the summer, but from what you're saying that seems unlikely.
Regarding some of the games... PGR3,Can't understand the knocks PGR3 is getting here, its an incredible game with huge depth, the more you play it, the more you appreciate it...the sign of a truly classic game. And the graphics in 720P HD are incredible, the surround sound when racing is sublime.... COD2, great graphics and playability, probably the best 1 player game experience right now on the xbox360...but the online multiplayer is brutal, even after the recent online update. HEAVY lag in most games, and horrible lobby area and matchmaking. This hopefully will improve over time. PDZ, this is a love it or hate it game, alot of hardcore Halo 2 playrs dont like it, probably because of the lack of autoaim and a poor lobby and matchmaking area. I happen to love it....slower paced compared to Halo2, but great graphical detail and awesome weapons and game types. New maps are needed and should be available in the future....HEADSHOT!...oh yeah, baby. Nothing says loving like a Jackal shot from 500 yards.... Quake4, my son loves this game, but I cant get into it after playing PDZ and COD2...just seems too old fashioned. Still, alot of people claim this is the ultimate multiplayer shooter on the market today, regardless of the system. I just dont go for it personally. HOCKEY, I havent played online yet, but it looks and plays OK...nothing special. MADDEN FOOTBALL, Im not a huge football fan and neither are my kids (shocking, yes, but we ARE Canadians) Honestly, havent even unwrapped it since purchase before launch date of system, lol. Also, regarding playing older xbox games on the 360, only some games are compatable, and even then, you have to download an update onto your 360 to get them to play. Check the list already provided.... It is true, you can't bring saved material from the old to the new system. Even the newer Halo2 maps have to be reloaded into the 360s harddrive again. Some users report "glitchiness" when playing some of the old games on the 360, but these reports seem sporadic at best...
That update wasn't for online lag. It was for the single player where some people lost save game files.
Yes, I've heard that as well, but my point remains...it didn't help with the lag issues and I didn't say it was designed to do so. They missed an opportunity to "spruce up" a game with a hell of a potential for AWESOME online multiplayer. ??? PGR3 is a "new" xbox360 game, original xbox is the "old" system...seems like he answered the question to me....
i have it. Its awsome pgr3 is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! you canb play old games but no new 360 games on old xbox.
Infinity Ward know that they made a mistake, but they have a patch in the making and should be here in the next couple of weeks. If you have actually played a good game online you would realize how an amazing experience it is. I am very annoyed by the fact that they haven't released the patch yet, because sometimes when I want to play a game, it takes about 20 tries and it always says unable to join game session. Very annoying but the patch will be here, all it needs is patience.
Is this confirmed? If so, great news...definately a plus for the 360! I've actually played a few good games, so I concur completely. Its only the really big games which seem to lag for me.....My post regarding heavy lag problems seems to be a common experience for most players, as a perusal of xbox.com will confirm. I'm actually good to get into most games, it's just that the ones with a ton of players usually lag....I feel your pain!
I have had it from launch week. its really great especially with the new online update that came out a week ago or someting. you cant play PGR3 on the old system and the bugatti veyron isnt in PGR3, but its still a absolutely awesome game, the veyron might come in a downloadable content pack sometime though.
I have 360, and played PGR2/Forza alongside PGR3(PIP). No comparison, graphics wise. Photorealism is about where PGR3 is, and much clearer and detailed. It's easier to drive the cars than any of the other XBOX games, which is good or bad depending on the driver. My only complaint is with the online players. I love side-by-side duals with other cars, etc but I can't stand the guys who only want to put everyone into the wall. They drive ultra-erratically and really take away the fun of competing online. I think I'll stay with the Silver subscription to 'Live'. Arcade game or not, you'd like it to be somewhat closer to reality. BTW-No Bugatti Veyron.
yeah a lot of people like to use you as their brake in the first turn of every race. but dont get rid of the gold, im monzaF1 on live, i race clean. if you find some good people that race the right way you will really love it.
No Veyron but the McClaren F1GTR and F50GT are more exciting cars for me anyway. I have a few F430's, CS, 575, Gallardo's etc in some choice colors. I can say enough about how close they got to perfect sound on each one the cars. Drive any Ferrari one the Nordschilfe (spelling ?) and you can hear the distinctive Ferrari wail echoing off the canyon walls and valley that make up the track. I does not get any better in a GT based racing game.
Thanks spelling those two words makes my head hurt. Are you online? If so blackspeedm3 I should be online after 9:00 pm PST
yes, i do have gold. but i most likely will not be on tonight of matbe even tommorow night (lots of homework). ill send you a frend request though. see you later.
hey, i tried to send you a friend request, but it said that the gamertag didnt exist. remember that its cap sensitive. im monzaF1 if you just want to send me a message so i know what the gamertag is. thanks
