Hi, just fitted the x ost to my 348, what a great sound.
I wanted to ask if anyone had done any noise level tests on theirs? I need to make sure its below 105 at 1 metre for most tracks here but fear it will be close!

I have a friend that just bought a DB meter. He should have it by now. This week I will go around his workshop and see if he has got it, then I will see if we can do some tests on my 348 for ya. Give me a couple of days, and I will let ya if I can do it for you. :):)

105DB at 1 metre away? How many RPM do they test that at and is it 1 metre straight from the tailpipes or on a 45 degree angle from the tailpipes? Let me know and I will see what I can do for ya Andrew. ;)

Many thanks, sorry forgot to mention revs, usually about 4,500.
and yes i think it is done straight back from pipe on one side, although dont see as i am sitting in car at time. Should have looked at others more closely.

4500RPM?? Ok, I will see what I can do mate. I will do 2 tests at 4500RPM. One test, 1 metre back straight back from the rear pipes and one test, 1 metre back on a 45 degree angle from the pipes. Just to see the difference and so that you can pass it on to track officals ect.... That is if he has received his DB tester yet. I will let you know in a couple of days ol son. :):)

    Here you go mate. :)
14 tests were performed this morning on my friends new Db tester. Tester was calibrated to 0.2Db before testing began and was mounted on a tripod. Tests were done outside in the sun and away from traffic driving past the workshop. It was not windy day today, that can affect the Db readings of course. It was a prefect day to do it. Although it was 36C all day. Hot and muggy. Yuk.

All the tests were very similar. Not much difference in it straight back vs 45 degree angle tests. Was quieter than I thought it would be at 4500RPM. :)

Straight back, 1.2 metres away from RHS exhaust tip on tripod-

    Idle-88Db.
    2000RPM-95Db.
    2500RPM-97Db.
    3000RPM-99Db.
    3500RPM-100Db.
    4000RPM-101Db.
    4500RPM-105Db.

45 degree angle, 1.2 metres away from RHS exhaust tip on tripod-

    Idle-86Db.
    2000RPM-95Db.
    2500RPM-96Db.
    3000RPM-99DB.
    3500RPM-101DB.
    4000RPM-102DB.
    4500RPM-104DB.

    So thats quite loud then!!!
But then who could object to such a wonderful sound.
With 105 limits I'll know to keep it down for my first test on track in the spring and will post any differences on mine.

    Very many thanks

    andrew

And yes.............XOST does sound FANTASTIC. I drove around with a grin from ear to ear after that test. Had the best fun. Did not want to stop driving around. :)

We have a nice little 348 meet this weekend with 13 of us, 6 other tipo joining in and at least 3 of the 8 RHD GTCs. Most have an aftermarket exhaust of some kind tubi, x-ost etc, so should shake up west london. Will all be on video so will post link if you want. Getting there mate. :)
My 348 sounds awesome when I drive past the buildings up town at around 4000RPM in 1st. The exhaust note reverberates off the walls nicely. That sounds bloody beautiful. :p:p Tunnel would awesome. One day.............:):)

Only the bottom link works... top two don't seem to load.

I drove about 75 miles yesterday in mine. Damn, I'm drunk on the sound. I wouldn't describe X-OST as being a loud system for the pure obnoxiousness of noise... rather, it is an intoxicating howl that makes you simultaneously pee in your pants, and giggle like a school girl.

    (whoa... )

They are showing loaded, and work usually, I needed to try one twice. I think they are getting a few people trying them at moment, but youtube should cope. Can you try again?
