REGARDLESS of any input from our "Friend" in Houston We, as a group, represent a very privileged and fortunate part of the world. The USA side of this board has many people who are wealthy beyond what most people can even imagine. There are others who's pockets are not so deep, but even those are wealthy beyond what most of the victims of this disaster will ever be able to comprehend. I always find it humorous when someone accuses me of something and then goes on to tell me they won't provide me with the evidence of that accusation. As far as the other questions, as I mentioned to dm_n_stuff, I am really quite tired of defending my credibility. It has gone too far and members of this forum have taken it upon themselves to go outside of this forum and do thinks which directly affect myself and my business. As far as this, project. I knew it was going to be tough to get $10,000 from members, much less getting 10,000 members to donate. I have gotten a total of 14 donations (Faisal being among those). Donations have gone to RedCross and DOctors without borders. I never thought about the donations reaching a point where they could not be matched as a goal was set of $100k in total donations. Perhaps that was short sighted on my part, but I never expected it to get anywhere near the goal (currently at just less than 1/20th of the goal.). I wonder though. How am I defrauding anyone? I have asked no one for a penny to myself. I have been taking the word of those who have donated (and you are appreciated) in order to make my contributions and inform the others. So unless I am somehow fleecing the monies of the Red Cross and Docs w/o Borders, your accusations are completely unfounded and beyond that, sick. Here it is, plain and simple... For those of you who have donated, thank you. The total is now $17,325 (including matched funds). I have no clue how many people that will help, but I can only hope it will at least save some lives. Faisal, a personal message to you. If you intend to call into question my commitment to helping other people you had better know damn good and well who you are talking about before you do so. While you hold me as a liar and a fraud because of an opinion you have formed over the internet, one thing that can NEVER be called into question is my love and commitment to helping people. I have taken personal injury, lost relationships, loss of friends, nightmares, PTSD, and other things in my endeavors to help people. I have been hands on every opportunity I could be. In any circumstance where I am able to help someone in dire need, I will do it, and neither you or anyone else has the right to accuse me of anything when it comes to that. Regardless of whatever 'evidence' you have. I cannot believe the audacity of some of you people. It makes me wonder why I care about some of your opinions. I hope to fix that problem very soon.
As I stated, that was a bit short sighted on my part not to state a limit. But that number is an extreme that is less likely to happen than being struck by lightning I would guess. This offer has hit an audience of more than 100,000 people (some redundant) and all of 15 donations have come from that. A .015% outcome thus far leaves me in pretty safe territory. I guess I wont have to worry about it anymore though since I am a fraud who, in the worst of Faisal's scenarios, motivated the raising of just under $2,500.

Why will these 7 people only contribute if others do? (matching). Why not just have those 7 people contribute $3.5MM (1/10 of the possible max) on their own. That doesn't make much sense to me - that they are only willing to contribute that much if someone else does too. If they really wanted to help, they'd just do it themselves without the need for others to be involved. "Hey, Red Cross - I've got $3.5MM to dontate to you - but I'm only going to do it if some people from an internet forum do it too!!"

If fraudulent, tricking people into donating money to charities with which they would not ordinarily contribute is NOT raising money; it is fraud for the sake of trying to appear to be a big player. Gentry, I think this just does not ring true; these clients were convinced by your charisma to commit thousands and maybe millions of dollars based on the contributions of people on a forum with whom they have no contact or attachment? I can imagine no well-to-do businessmen being that gullible and easily lead by you. Gentry, I personally do not believe a word of it. I feel silly even responding to this as it is pathetically sad.
If donating $2500 of my own money makes me a big player, then were does that put people who can afford to spend 800k on a pool or 250k on a car for weekend driving? If you feel I am lying to you about this, dont participate. It is really as simple as that. I am not forcing or compelling anyone to participate. And your assumption that it was my idea or my charisma (which I have alot of thank you!) that brought the idea about would be wrong. Bringing it to you folks was an after thought. An idea that I can now see was short sighted and misplaced. I thought that, at least for one thread, the negativity could stay in other parts of the forum, but I was wrong. That being said, I am tired of defending myself to people who could really care less about my defense since they have their minds made up already.
