Welcome Zack. There is a timepiece forum - "Any watch Lovers or Collectors here?" It's posted in the Collectibles, Literature & Models section. Enjoy!
Rob I'd love to pick up a nice 360 in 2-3 years. My daily driver is a 7 year old domestic and will most likely need replacing within a year. If I could squeeze 3 more years out of it I'd go for the Ferrari first next year, but things are starting to break on the daily driver regularly so my gut tells me to replace it first with something nice that will last 10-15 years. As for cars appreciating, I would probably never sell so after I buy it doesn't really matter what happens to the price! I was just curious. Thanks for this thread, I think It has made a regular poster out of me! Jason Polzer Canada
Well I will say that I am a lurker. Either because I'm just in that stage of where I just don't have too much to really post or have not found any thread where I could voice my two cents or ask questions where there not answers too. That said my dream car is definatly the 355 I will say that 166 is starting to grow on me. The 360s are nice but, they just don't give me the feeling that I get when I see a 355,Dino,Tesstarossa etc (sorry 360 guys).
What an amazingly brilliant and original idea for a thread!!!!! http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46139&highlight=lurkers DL
Hello everyone! My name is Michael Ulibarri and i've been reading f-chat for a about a month now and i am addicted. I have lived in Newport Beach for 2 years now while i attend college. I LOVE the Ferrari image, lifestyle, and of course, the machine. I have met a few F-chat guys at CC and you are all very nice and i am looking forward to making even more new friends in the future.
Here is a post as requested. I own a silver 2001 360 6-speed. I upgraded from a red 1988 328 GTS. Like most people, I haven't had anything important enough to add to the other threads. I drive my Ferrari on most good weather days. The one thing I'd like to find out is how to mount a front license plate on a 360 without drilling the bumper. So far the police haven't stopped me but it is probably just a matter of time.
First post here. As the name implies, I am a flag worker at car racing events, often at Mt-Tremblant where the owner has many nice F-cars. My one "exotic" car is an all-aluminium two-seater, but it's made in Tochigi and has all of 71 hp...if the current is right! I never drove or even sat in a Ferrari (maybe a GTB4 way back when). My favorite Ferraris are the F40 and the 275. Not too fond of the latest models. My girlfriend (half-italian and a Ferrari buff) "drove" a BB512LM at Lime Rock during a Ferrari event a couple of years ago...backwards behind a tow truck! And a few months ago, still at Lime Rock, she took a ride in an old Scuderia Ferrari Alfa Romeo. She still talks about it. My personal Ferrari history is somewhat limited, if not for participating in the recovery of many crashed 355's and 360's. I extinguished a 360 that was burning quite badly in Montreal a few years back...I once pushed Jean Alesi's car too...Ivan Capelli destroyed his car in front of me in 1992...And I've seen Michael win way too many times!
I've flagged many SCCA & exotic club meets at Roebling Road & snagged some unbelievable rides by being there. A great place to start - watching, close up, serious racing & serious cars. AND, if you ever decide to race you already know the turns & safety tips. I carry a fire extinguisher in all 5 of my street cars.
Toggie, Welcome. If you do a search, I think you'll find somebody built a front plate holder that requires no holes. If memory serves, if was well made but expensive. I don't have a front plate, though one is required in my neck of the woods. My dealer offers velcro as an option!
I'm a noob here I don't own a Ferrari but I've been a fan since I could see. I wasn't going to post but I see that not everyone here owns a Ferrari so what the hell? I own a vw, porsche and now I'm building up a turbo nissan. I used to go to a lot of autoX and track events but I plan on doing a few track days and driver's schools this year.
Hello everyone, I've been lurking for a while, don't recall posting ever so here it goes I'm a long time car fan of course, always been intrigued by each country's car essence - for Italy its always been a sexy Ferrari in RED of course! I will own a Ferrari one day. I recently moved to the Atlanta area from the cold north east, so now the climate makes it that much more enticing to own a purebred sports car. I have visited Ferrari of Atlanta a few times, and other local exotic car dealerships to get my fix I really believe the hunt itself is almost as much fun as actually making the purchase. I'm 31, 2 kids and a wonderful wife who is a big car fan as well. So there is support all around for something like this. We have a three car garage and only own 2 cars...so there's even room! We just moved so maybe in the next few years I'll make the jump into an F car. I love reading the posts about everyone passion about owning and experiencing these wonderful machines. I hope to participate in local events in the greater GA area. regards, whup
I remember a thread on here a while ago where someone was talking about how they made a copy of there plate on a copy machine and then laminated it and taped or used velcro and put it on the front of there car.
That would be our very own 'DrWho'. I have a picture of it somewhere. The problem IIRC is that it's not 'speed' rated!
hi guys, my name is colin. I'm from toronto, ontario, and im currently attending university. i really love this forum, and hope to own my own F car later on in life. I guess this forum helps me prepare for that big moment when and if it comes. i guess i can keep dreaming for now.. and studying hard.. it's one of my motivations when studying i guess. rumours are there is a rosso corsa enzo here in markham where i live. my friend claims to have seen it. i've got no vin #s or anything to prove it but thats all i got. here in markham there arent many f cars. i've seen a couple modenas, and a kinda old one (didnt know too much about what it was because wasnt that obsessed with f cars). maybe if i see it again, i'll know
what a kind and friendly way to motivate 'lurkers' to participate. This makes FerrariChat so enjoyable. I have made other questionable experiences. There's a dutch mailing list, which is busy with Ferrari-VINs. If you are a member and do not participate enough, you get a PM, that you are a 'lurker' and will have to leave :-| Of course After you have forwarded your car's details. I was there... and thrown out of that exclusive club. Great, that FerrariChat goes a different way. Best Regards Martin
I just want to say that this has been one of my favorite forums. Although I have not posted very often, I have read enough threads to pick up a few worthy gems about Ferraris, non-Ferraris and even non-car topics. I'm a member of FCA, but don't have much opportunity to take advantage of the local membership perks such as driving my 328 on a group ride or at a track day due to family and startup business activities. This forum has certainly been a good outlet even for a few minutes at a time. Thanks for the contributions.
Kashif, check the "South Central" forum for info on Atlanta-area car shows, and you'll be able to meet us and our cars.
Hey everyone I've been lurking for a couple of months now, decided to start participating. I'm 16 and live in the Motor City. I am a huge car nut - mostly into American muscle and, of course, Italians. I definitely plan on owning many new Ferraris, as I am going to go into business. The goal is to own a Ferrari and a Dodge Viper by age 30. (The Viper is the best car EVER!) I know this is possible, and can't wait. Happy to finally start posting.
Hi, My name's Thaddeus, and I'm reading the Board here to build up some knowledge aboout the Ferrari marque. I'm thinking about taking the plunge, having restored an ailing Porsche 928 I'm thinking about the next challenge, perhaps a 308 or 328... I'm here to learn. thanks Thaddeus
