San Diego Exotic Car Meet If you know about the Crystal Cove Saturday morning car meet in Newport Beach, we are trying to create a similar event in San Diego. Bring your car to the Carlsbad Outlet Mall, south side parking lot near Starbucks, January 29th starting at 7:00am for an informal and free car-guy get together. Swing by, bring your car, come see what beautiful cars show up and meet their owners. We hope to attract Porsches, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Hot Rods, Antique Vehicles, but all cars are welcomed. We hope to make this a recurring monthly event so please, we have to make sure everyone behaves like a gentleman, no burnouts, no drag racing or any kind of exhibition of speed. Directions: From the Los Angeles Area: Interstate 5 South, exit Palomar Airport Rd. and turn left to head East. 1/2 block east of I-5, turn left at the first stop light onto Paseo del Norte. From San Diego: Interstate 5 North, exit Palomar Airport Rd. and turn right to head East. 1/2 block east of I-5, turn left at the first stop light onto Paseo del Norte. Raymond
ok thanks for the clarification. i know exactly where the mall is, my mom goes shopping there all the time so every last saturday of the month, from 7:00 am til......when? i understand that theres only been 2 or 3 of these things, but about how many cars showed up? is the level of awesomeness of the cars at CC about the same? or do all the murcis and 360s and stuff go up there so were left with the 348s and stuff? (dont take that the wrong way, a Ferrari is a Ferrari is great, no matter what,) but do the newer/faster/more expensive ones go up north? or do we get some of those down here too?
Feel free to take a look at the pictures yourself in the many threads that have been created about the past meets.
The turn out is alway great (or has been the two times I've been there). Best thing about the San Diego show is that it just keeps growing and growing! It is well worth the 7am wake-up time to come out and see these cars and talk with their owners (the talking is the best part, I think). By the way, there are plenty of 360's and F355 to float your boat (o'yeah, the 1993 348SS is more rare then an Enzo, if you didn't know that). And as far as your concern about fast/expensive cars goes, a Carrera GT (owned by a member of this board) has been to all three shows. So, this should become sticky Moderator.
thanks for the info Edmund. Just a guesstimate but about how many cars were there last time? the time before?
First time I went I would say that there was "around" 50 cars (lots of Vipers and Vetts, but hell, it's all good with me!). I was a little late to the last one, but I've "heard" around 70 cars (not sure if that is right or not). Even though I was late, there were still many new cars there (like Mustangs, Lotus Elises, ect.). Man, just wake-up early and go, its worth the trip (hell, if you live by me or on my way up there, I can pick you up). Hope that helps. P.S. I go by Ned, Edmund sounds very strange when I hear or read it and know it's about me
first time (jan) we had 39 cars. second time (feb), i quit counting at 72 ish (more cars came after). third time (march), i quit counting after 100. here is a video of the last one: http://videos.eserver.com/march_show.wmv
thanks fo the new info guys. and Ned its not thats i need a ride or cant wake up, im just debating which show to go to between this one and crystal cove.
why decide? the SD one is once/mth and CC is every week. so, just go to the SD one once/mth, and the CC one 3/mth, eh?
