Hi there, I found a good price on a 360 that i was thinking about getting in on. However, it was in a collission. A ferrari dealer fixed it up a couple years ago. Of course, the owner says it is fine. the damage doesnt look too bad to me. I dont know much about this car, other than it originated and was crashed in texas. If anyone knows about this car, please let me know. Otherwise, if anyone knows anything to look out for with 360s in general from a failure/maintenance point of view, please also post, this is a 1999 F1 Btw. Fchat was very helpful in letting me know things about my 355 in terms of the valve issues, maintenance, etc. Thanks in advance Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I don't know this car, but a couple of the door shut lines look a little strange. I would make absolutely sure that all is well before I bought it. Neil
Maybe post to Texas Section, and have somone run that plate registration! That'll tell you the previous owner. Looks like a pretty hard curb ride over, to me...but Ferrari of Houston is a certified shop that does magical repairs.... Does not look like enough damage to cause any Title problems.......
Being a complete mechanical amateur, what kinds of "hidden" damage do you think there may be on this car? Stuff that would go unnoticed to someone who just buys and drives the thing, and something that a dealership would let the car out from repair with but may cause problems down the road?
thanks i will take your suggestion. The repair was done in Quebec Canada, brought up while wrecked still. The car did get a salvage title in the state of TX. Can anyone from TX let me know what the laws are there about salvage cars? Of course, every insurance co is different, but is it standard practice by insurance companies to mark exotics as salvage then pay out the owner in TX, or do you think that this is probably seriously a salvage for good reason?
Cars that are salvaged are salvaged for a reason. The frame must be tweaked- look at the lines on the car. While I'm sure you can pick up this 360 for very cheap, the headaches this car brings you will not be worth it.
