Why? I just wondered why people have sold what I consider to be one of the best and well sorted Ferrari's available. Image Unavailable, Please Login
A Challenge Stradale for a Porsche???? What's going on here. I hope it is a Carrera GT, because if not I wouldn't do it ever. That's a nice upgrade WCH I love the F40, more than I love the CS.
I don't know whats going on in my head but I'm expecting a F430 this year and I just drove a 360CS. The problem is that I own a 360F1 and love the thing and I'm on the list but for a F430 6 speed not F1. I'm writing here because I know some of you have driven both and maybe some own a F430. The thing is that I like the 360CS because is what I like in a car and its a type of car that I can drive almost daily (its the closest thing to an F40 that I can afford) and its what I expect a Ferrari to be like... I know that I will buy whatever I want, but do any of you would rather own a 360CS even if you don't mean to use it as a tracked car? Just some opinions would do just fine, thanks.
I would like to hear more about the owners opinions as testa asked. I'm still deciding between the CS wich I love, and a new F430, wich I will pick at the factory, and that is the reason I can't decide. hehe
I thought I recognized turn#9 at Pacific Raceways (nee SIR) and the ProFormance Racing school outfits!! I politely turned down a chance to acquire a CS -- awesome track machine that it is -- because track time only represents about 10% of the time in my car, and I'm not willing to forego all the creature-comforts of the regular 360. Great car though -- if the garage (and wallet) to accomodate 2 f-cars that'd be an awesome machine to love....
i've owned both, as many as other respectful members here such as Jack & Amir etc. i don't have as much experience as they do but here's my thought on both cars. 360CS imo is definitely more sexy & exotic looking than 430, inside out. the interior of 360CS makes the driver feel like being a race car driver not to mention the aggressive looking exterior for others to look at. raw, carpetless, carbon doors, racing seats, it's a total racing experience even u don't track it. to me the 360CS is a total package deal. u get pretty much all the hardcore goodies from Ferrari for a relatively good deal i.e cf brakes, cs wheels, seats, carbon everywhere. however, after a short driving behind the wheel of 430 changed my mind in terms of the dynamics of both cars. 430 feels much faster in speed. the F1 tranny is by far much improved from CS. the chassis offers much more confidence & the car feels much more soild than before. it drives better, rides better & shifts better but it does not give u the rawness of the CS. for daily use i'd definitely pick the 430 over 360CS. for the ultimate weekend fun the CS might excite u more. bottom line, 360CS' look & feel is hard to beat while 430's overall improvement is undeniable. they are completely different cars in their purpose therefore it should be pretty easy for u to rule out which one fits ur need better. good luck on making the decision. can't go wrong with either. p.s. would love to try out a 6sp 430 one day. though F1 is ideal for the car but being a big fan of manual i prefer to shift myself = more fun & connected. bothers me knowing the car is really built around the F1 though. guess nothing is perfect in this world.
I just spent 3 months going over the same thought. 360CS or 430, well, after 3 months and many hours of reading, searching, looking, I went with a 360CS. Bottom line the CS is a race car that is reday for the street. The CS is what I like! I would have bought a 430 and spent $$$$ making it into what a CS comes with stock. Big brakes, light weight wheels, Carbon Fiber every where, suspension to die for, etc. But that's just me. My CS will be here today (Friday 27th)! Carbon Black with red interior. I am so happy I went with the CS. I knew I went with the right choice after I saw a 430 next to the CS at the dealer. The 430 is no slouch but next to the CS well, lets put it like this the 430 is fore play and the 360CS is SEX......
i sold mine, i totaled the front end in a wreck on I-35 and i didn't want to pay all that money to have it fixed so i sold the engine (hehehe) and bought a Testarossa ___________________________________________________________ Prince Escalus: for never was there a story of more woe than that of Drew and his Challlenge Stradale- from romeo and juliet
"but do any of you would rather own a 360CS even if you don't mean to use it as a tracked car?" I've also owned both. It takes nothing away from the CS, a brilliant car, to say I'd unhesitatingly pick the F430 over the CS for daily use. Good luck, no way to go wrong with either car.
i sold mine because i had no time to drive it and expected that pattern to continue, which it has. i only put 300 miles on my new motorcycle last fall. no time. the CS is a wonderful car. after owning three ferraris, i don't know that i'd be willing or capable of owning another that wasn't as raw as the CS. just lovely. doody.
Just the end of a session during a track day up in the great NW. Note the dry pavement Trading up for a CGT or F40 seems nice. Being a drivers car where comfort isn't as high a priority, I know the Stradale isn't for everyone. I own one because it exudes the passion that Ferrari's all have, but in a more complete package. I just received my Forza mag. yesterday and it lists the picks of some prominent people as their favorite driving Ferrari's. While the Stradale only appeared on some lists and always in the bottom half, it and the F430 are the only ones within my budget, and Im not sure how far it would stray from the top of my list if I could afford to drive the others. I believe the Stradale has a more sensuous, complete line than the 430. While the 430 may more resemble a Pam Anderson type, nice to some, but too many parts that look like they were added to the original chassis after the fact and just dont seem to belong. Mine is more akin to Charlize Theron, naturally beautiful everywhere you look. It transfers into the mechanicals of the car too. The car dances with the driver and rarely steps on your toes. It is simply beautiful to drive fast. The sound, the shape, the smell, the feel, it is all there. I seriously doubt I will trade it for the next best thing that comes along, in this case the 430. The only downside is driving with others, on the road, in traffic (which is everywhere in Seattle). Driving with Pam in theses situations might not be too bad with a 430 Spider, 6-speed, CC brakes, power Daytona seats, carpet hmmm Sorry, just having a fling. I love my Stradale.
^ The Stradale is more like a full bodied bikini contest girl thats got nothing fake, Pam Anderson and a Ferrari should never be compared, ever. Pam is more like an upside beat up broom with 2 pencils for legs...
You've got a nice stable of track machines GT3, GT2, 360CS IIRC Would love to hear you comparisons of the GT2/3 vs. the 360CS
