Paid deposit on a 03 575M F1(Fiorano pack) with about 3000k on it. Any tips or advice on pre-owned inspection on the car? Like tool box, spare wheel, instruction manual and other manuals that should come with the car and other things that should come standard with the car....hate to buy a car with incomplete stuff....

    Did you get a warranty?

What is the clutch wear on the car?

What is the tyre wear on the car?

    What is it's service history?

It should have a leather tool kit, no spare wheel, a leather bound manual holder with the manuals inside

    Enjoy it in good health!

They had a bunch of ECU recalls, make sure that is up to date. Some 550/575s have a little nagging bit of a sway bar bushing cracking. Nothing dramatic just makes front rattle a little extra noisy and check the history on that. Only wear bit I noticed would suggest that you check fabric behind the seats below the luggage deck, tends to become loose... tool kit is just a small leather pouch if I recall with upper flap holding spare fuses. Instruction manuals in same type of pouch usually located in the truck by a buckle in a hidden compartment, right next to the car cover in a red duffle... car has a spare tire? That's new to me...

Enjoy your purchase Optrex, the 575M is such a gorgeous car. Chal is on the money mentioning a warranty. You can extend it only if the car was purchased and serviced at an authorized Ferrari dealer.

Mark - Mine did both the 355 and 360. I would for sure think 575 would get them. (Good point).

Get the Ferrari extended warranty for your peace of mind. With only 3k miles any mechanical issues may not have shown up yet. My '02 575 ate a left cam drive roller bearing at 9k miles (random bad part or garage queen for 2.5 years) and half shafts replaced at 20k miles. All done under extended warranty. Car will also need belt change 36 months from date of manufacture and probably a major service at the same time. Cost ~ $5k.

It is a great car to drive, I have put 27k miles on mine in 10 months
    Enjoy!

I was thinking of going for the 2 belt changes in less than 12 month award, however, I left her at the dealer for Dec. and Jan. for a 30k service, front re-spray, clear bra, etc. to get her ready for spring driving season. Now that I think about driving, I think an 800 mile loop this weekend is in order.

I apologize if this sounds a little negative, but shouldn't you be asking about inspection **before** you put a deposit on the car?

An independent inspection is the MOST important thing that people do when they find a Ferrari that they like, because there are many abused cars on the market today that have been detailed to look impeccable to you and me, but will end up spoiling your Ferrari experience.

I don't know if it's too late for you to make your offer conditional on a successful inspection or not, but I would try to put the process on hold until you see the results of the inspection. You should also be prepared to address the issues you find wrong with the car head on (either by deducting the cost of fixing them from the price of the car, accepting them as problems and resigning yourself to live with them or walking away from the deal).

Assuming that all there is to address is the presence or lack of a spare, etc., is not what used Ferraris are all about. There are tons of mechanical, hydraulic and electronic gremlins in these cars that sometimes take professional mechanics months to track down and fix, if at all.

Sorry to damp your excitement, but better now than after you get the car.

(And sorry for the long post).

Just make sure all car deposits are refundable.

Should be no problem deposit -> PPI if you think you may like the car.

I saw an older woman driving a beautiful Silver/Black 575 F1 the other day, that car has aged so gracefully. Good luck on the purchase.
