    Hi All,

Anyone interested in getting a Hi quality, large format poster made of your favorite car photo? YOUR CAR !

My wife and I run the national holiday greeting card programs for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, March of Dimes, etc via our site www.morethancards.com (fyi, proceeds go to the foundations with over $1M in cumulative sales for JDRF to date)... Now to the point: In my dealings with my local print vendors, one of them has just invested in an HPZ 6100 large format printer and are doing hi-resolution banners, posters I immediately thought of the car club and they just did one for me of my old Dino 308 GT4.

Single posters are a bit pricey at nearly $80 bucks (22" x 28", 220 gram Photo Satin Paper with a 3mil Luster Overlaminate), but if we can get several orders together, they've agreed to drop the pricing significantly -- especially since I plan to have a portion of the bulk order given back to JDRF.

If I can group order in quantities of 10 or more, the price drops to $45.00. 20 or more $40.00. (Plus tube mailer and postage)

Anyone interested? I think it makes for a great poster, or framed art for the garage or office.

Photo of my original below. I got it framed/glass, and its now hanging in the garage. Plan to do one of the Mondial t cab, too.

Please POST YOUR INTEREST, or PM and I will coordinate and see if we can get this together.

    Lemme know. John

    Photo specs:
300 dpi or better. Large file size. Preferred taken with at least a 4megapixel camera to ensure a clear image when blown up to the large format. Usually a couple mb image file.

If you mean raw 4x6 or 5x7 prints, I would doubt it.

    Is that what you meant?

In reading your profile as a photographer, somehow I think you are referring to some other format which I am not familiar with.

Yes, I am...and will work with them, but this need not be a localized project. We should be able to find tube mailers 24" in length and send anywhere.

I am thinking that this would be a great idea for any club drives, get togethers or formal events -- as a way to really remember the event.

    you mean something like this?

Not sure if they'll send to the US, but you might want to check out www.posterxxl.com. They currently have a 80x60cm poster (30" x 24") for 15 euro's. That's about US$ 20. Also (much) larger formats available... Plus they print on 300 gram paper, rather than 220...

    John,

I wanted to congratulate you and your wife with MTC and all that you are doing for the Diabetes World. My wife amongst the many things she does is the National Spokesperson for the American Diabetes Association in both english and spanish languages. She herself does not have Diabetes, but she has lost 3 of her 4 grandparents to complications of it and 8 of the 9 living anuts and uncles on her faters side have type 2 today. Its a very serious disease and continued need for education and awareness will be a never ending battle, but we will press on. Well done and keep up the good work. If you need anything from us just let me know.

    Cheers,
    Jeremy & Chef LaLa

Thanks Hans....I'll check it out, or even look at some other US options. The posters (non-canvas) are similar in paper stock, but less expensive, so worth a look.

    Thanks. John

Exactly what I mean, the software I use is RAW exclusive. Shoot RAW only.

I highly recommend www.posterxxl.com as well. I have used them for a lot of stuff and they do great work. They have good specials from time to time as well.

I also recommend Adobe Light room. I quickly edited your photo in light room to create a little sharper image.

But you'd still want to process the RAW, so why not send a processed JPEG or TIFF or something?

Because they are lossy files and they do not have the required detail. RAW is a lossless file.
