Is there a film coating that you can apply to the glass to help protect it? Sort of like that clear coat plastic stuff for the body?

Yes, clear bra should work. Stuff was designed originally for helo windshields in desert. Won't have effect on tint-o-matic. May save 25k, so likely worth it.
    PS, hey Dan, s'up yff?

In the UK warranty for Superamerica is £6k more than that for a Barchetta which is fundamentally the same car - I went for the tent rather than the Italian M&E solution

There is one small improvement on the glass roof on the 612 over the 575SA (I have 575SA here in Hong Kong and no problems so far with roof). When you park the 575SA, the roof goes dark regardless of setting thus assumes you may be parked in sunlight. This means a continuous use of the battery to maintain darkness (even if only a minimal amount). On the 612 glass roof, I understand there is a timer which switches off the dark roof after 8 hours. It assumes by then the sun must have gone down or you are home by then and in the garage.
