If there is one event to attend this year this could be it.... May 23rd Sunday at Fort Adams (inside the Fort itself...) will be held the Newport Concours Event... This is shaping up to be one the the most amazing car related events of the season. Lunch available at the event, there will be general public parking and then reserved parking (which I think many here would qualify for...) for public guests that arrive in a "special interest" car, this parking is set away from the public, over looking the Ocean and the Newport Bridge etc. This lot in itself will house some very cool cars and worth a walk through...This is NOT your average Concours event....(not that this would be a bad thing just saying...), not in the least. There will be featured some amazing new cars as well as some rare Vintage autos...Also will have some very cool Vendors there from high end watches to other... If you want to be one of the first locally to view the new AMG SLS you may want to attend.... rumor has it they have one...AMG is a sponsor of the event! How about a possible ride and drive in this car? yup.... There will be again modern day technological marvels from Enzo's to classic Bugatti's, Duesenberg's etc... Ping me directly with any questions, I am clearly excited for this event as I am a Newport local yocal...that said I have a pretty good handle on what this event will offer. Looking forward to seeing you there.... here is the site that is up for now: just google Newport Concours d'Elegance etc... but a new site to be launched soon, starts at 10am and ends at 4/5ish... Event is Charity Driven so proceeds go to benefit Boys and Girls Club and some other Charities etc.... Really going to be an amazing event.... If you have a car and want to possibly enter into the Concours please send me by PM the details and will get you in touch with the right people....
I've already seen and sat in the SLS and SLS GT3 race car but look forward to attending this event. I've heard some great reviews of this event
I missed it last year, but anyone know if the Miura that was there last year will be showing up this year? I'll be heading down w/ a friend.
I know a few of us are bringing down invited supercars, PM me if you want to make a caravan of cars. We can store our cars with 24/7 indoor secure parking at www.parkplaceholdings.com Off 114 in Portsmouth
If anyone is interested there will be a rendezvous point for some of the cars in the SCRT group at the Mobil/BK rest area on Rt24 south around 9:45 to depart at 10:00am. Be there or be square.
The owner of said car still has the vehicle and I will probably be talking to him Saturday night, but by then the car may be at the event.
I am attending today's "Press Day" for the event and maybe posting some pics soon here as to is in store for Sunday.... stay tuned!
Please just be aware that this is for the cruise to Newport only. Once in Newport you are on your own. As anyone not on the SCRT list for the show will not be able to join us at the rendezvous point in Newport for those that are on the list due to space limitations.
LMAO! Too funny! The best part is he IS in the SCRT group! I told ya that quoting thing would be a problem one of these days! lol

Anyone get the story behind the V-16 Caddy hot-rod? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That was one helluva show. An absolutely stunning assembly of cars in an oddly intimate setting. So glad the weather was nice. A great assortment stuff from every vintage--a bunch of stuff I've never seen in person before. I think the Lambo 350GT was the one that won my heart, though--that car is so much more impressive in person than in photos. Huge CT contingent--I was surprised at how many cars came from CT. Neat to meet/talk to Wayne Carini, too.
Great meeting some of you today and seeing some of the familiar faces I haven't seen in a while. I only got to see some of the cars quickly (I was busy working) but you all brought some fantastic rides!
One of the best shows I have been to in a longggggggggg time.... I love and appreciated the older/vintage cars, truly amazing and some of the moto bikes were amazing.... and also enjoyed the newer cars welcomed at the event...such a good mix! AMG and Audi both brought some cool cars... The new audi R8 spyder and the new SLS was nice to see....Looking forward to next years Newport Concours!!!! Great event and charity driven.... some good funds raised for some great needy causes today....
