Before I embarked on a search for a "new" 348, I made doggone sure my wife tax was paid so there wouldn't be any debts later:

$7K - new granite countertops for kitchen
$2K - new cooktop and other kitchen fixtures
    $10K - various home fix-ups, re-dos, and furniture
$1K - his and hers bicycles with the baby seat, some good mothers day gifts.

So $20K was my tax. So far.

I paid none...zero..zip...nothing. Luckily, my wife is very understandable (eventhough buying Ferrari is among the most senseless thing a guy with young family can do).

Hahahaha. Listen to him boys. He really thinks that if he had a wife she wouldn't have anything to say about it. Little does he know they can be like a dripping faucet.

When I get mine it will be 0, my girlfriend is in love with Ferraris now that I have converted her. She'll call me and be ecstatic when she sees one, even though she can't tell a 360 from a 430, she just calls them a "new" one.

It's all in the training to alleviate the pain :).

The deal with my wife is I won't give her a hard time about jumping on a plane to visit the grandkids (4, all in different parts of the country) whenever she wants, if she gives me free rein to do whatever I want with my cars. Alas, no F car yet. That may be pushing it...

She made me fly all over the world, Rio, Buenos Aires, Europe and have randy sex with lots of beautiful women.

Wait a tick, I'm not married, I guess that was a self imposed "tax" then :)

She is getting a Mini Copper "S" Cabrio today.

    This will compliment her mini-van

I have to admit, not only is the "S" (with very few mods) quick. It is a blast to throw around the corners.

She will be learing to drive stick on the Mini, unlike my 550, the Mini clutch will be under warranty

Well, my company's the old CEO and my Ex took most of my savings and retirement, just when I was going to buy my first one. I wonder if they worked together? So now working to get my "real" first one, oh wait one more female in my life, need to pay daughter's college, but thats perfectly acceptable as a proud dad. I'll continue to work on it.
