Wow, thats some intro Andreas posted... There have been discussions on other sections of F-Chat regarding what breed of horse is the Cavallino? See: http://www.thebestemployee.com/forum/showthread.php?p=135699356&posted=1

Many believe it to be a Lipizzan. This very special breed originates from Europe. The FOC found a breeding farm of Lipizzan horses right here in northern Illinois. We have been in contact with Tempel Farms in Wadsworth, Illinois. They have agreed to allow a few of us to drive to their farm. They will bring out a stallion with it's trainer for a photo shoot with our Ferraris. The trainer should be able to pose the horse in a "prancing" position.

After our visit at Tempel Farms we will stop for a late lunch or early dinner.

This event will take place on Saturday April 29th. I don't have a time confimed yet, but will advise as soon as I have it firmed up.

Is the Lipizzan the Cavallino? Take a drive with us and you decide.

Better to go and see the show Tempel Farms puts on with the Lipizzan.

Went with the RROC......had special parking etc., the whole 9 yards!

Sure, have a photo of your car with a horse if that floats your boat; but do it when you can see the show too.

That's what Tempel Farms is all about!

 

It would be kool to see the show as well.
I am going to see what my schedule looks like but you can add me to the list for now.

Sorry...can't make this one. I am having knee Surgery next Friday the 28th. But it does sound really cool! Have fun! Get lots of Pix!

 

My original intention was to see the show Skip. If you check their schedule, the shows don't start until June.

We can do an additional drive this summer to include the show if the interest is there. This drive will provide a preview of the farm.

I might be able to get a few more. I'll start my begging and pleading for you Andreas. It usually works!! ;-)

I will see about a friend and his 250GTO. Could you get a bucking bull to "pose" if I brought a friend and his Lambo?? ;-)

Maybe my other buddy and his 355 might be able to come. I'll see them all tomorrow in the morning. I'll ask...

Hiya guys,

Thought we would give y'all a bit of info for Saturday.

1st...when you go to the farm, remember that Wadsworth Rd. going over 94 is closed off due to construction. But if you want to bypass the Gurnee Mills/Grand Ave. traffic mess, Take Grand Ave East from 94 to the first street light and head north (left turn) on Dilleys Rd. Take that to the second light and turn west (left turn) on Stearns School Rd. You will cross back over 94 and go until you come to Hunt Club Rd. and head north (right turn). Then follow that to Wadsworth Rd. and head east (right turn).
A few extra turns, maybe a half mile extra travel distance, but you will not have to deal with the nutcases out on Grand Ave. going shopping in the area. It will be a bit safer and not take you more than a few extra minutes...not to mention Grand Ave. is not in very good condition around the 94 area going toward Gurnee Mills.

2nd...There is another photo op in this area if you would all be up for it. It is a unique "house" and "yard" of one of the rich (eccentric) folks in the area, who decided he wanted to build and live in a pyramid. The whole place is Egyptian motif, from the 6 story gold pyramid house (much of it is actually 24k gold), to smaller pyramid garages, to the roughly 60 or so foot tall statue of Osiris (I think) guarding the front yard. The place is huge, and surrounded by a neat wall with paintings like an egyptian tomb. If that is a place you would like to swing by, it is very close, and if you want, I can make a phone call and see if they would let the Prancing Horses and Raging Bulls in their yard for a little bit of Egyptian grazing and pictures next to the pyramids and giant reflecting pool !! It is not generally open to the public, but can be by calling and making an appointent which I shall do Wed. if you like.

3rd...this is all very close to the newly aquired house, and we would be up for having you all over for a little BBQ and a few beers or sodas. Let us know guys, we would love to have you over!
