Hey, I'm new to the forum, and I have been a Ferrari fan my whole life. This question is about the new F60 that should be coming out within the next year and a half or so. Is there any info. about it, if not feel free to say what you think. Also I remember hearing about the one-off of the Enzo, that should be something to see. But for the ne F60 I'm quite sure it will have more bhp than the FXX, maybe around 850-900 in a 6.3l V12. If anyone knows please feel free.

    Thanks everyone.
    Glad to join.

I kinda doubt we'll be seeing a new supercar for awhile. With the FXX being produced/done, they're starting on the new Maser MC12 program(like the FXX). Who knows though...

That Maserati program has nothing to do with Ferrari , they are no longer "together" in the business.

I don't know anything about the F60 but isn't the whole point of the FXX to find out what the top buyers are looking for in their supercar, that way Ferrari can make the new cars based on their comments? If so, seems like there wouldn't be a new car for a couple of years unless the changes/preferences could be made with software.

Anway, I don't know, just thinking.

The "F-60" or whatever it will be named is on the drawing boards for a while. To me they were working on it when the Enzo was unveiled. It seems logical from an industrial point of view. Too early yet to know anything reliable. The name could be anything, probably a tribute to something instead of a codename but who knows. The car will be more powerful than the Enzo but to my opinion, not as powerful as the Veyron. The Veyron is too heavy due to its huge engine.
Ferrari made modern Supercars since the F-40 and the Enzo isn't the last of the list.

Well what I was thinking was, that every 10th year anniversary, they come out with an F-..., 40,50, and their anniversary is in a year so I would assume an F60, they said the FXX was a platform to build their new supercars, but thruth is no one could know whats going on, very secretive, but I assume they're probably working on it. Logically.

This is very true, the Ferrari F60 has been on the drawing board now for a couple of years, and is headed for production! Ferrari will not chase the Veyron in horsepower, but will out due it with power to weight ratio! It has been rumoured that the F60 will use a new V-12, that will produce aroubnd 850bhp-900+bhp, and will use a & speed F1 transmission with a possiblity of it using what Ferrari/Maserati/Alfa Romeo 4 wheel drive system to handle all the power and torque! It is also true that Ferrari/ Maserati/Alfa romeo are all working on a new supercar for each brand, namely for Ferrari the F60, Maserati the next MC supercar, and Alfa Romeo the TZ3 supercar, all are to use different state of tune V-12 engine, with the range topper Ferrari F60, with the Maserati MC supercar in the middle,a nd the Alfa Romeo TZ3 at the lower end, all priced to sale between $750,000 for the 850-900bhp Ferarri F60-$500,000 for the700-750bhp Maserati MC supercar- and $250,000 for the 650bhp Alfa Romeo TZ3! which will keep these cars form overlapping there market places!

I know italiaspeed has 850 bhp for 6.3l V12 for the F60, they put it right there. And they are known for quality of information, and based solely for Italian cars, so its reliable. But idk, about the other things.

Well this all comes from different sources within the Italian auto community! Ferrari would want to use this new rear wheel bias 4 wheel drive system to make use of all the horsepower, which it would have to transfer all that horsepower through a 7 speed F1 transmission to the ground! It is no secret that Maserati are no longer at the high end of the FIAT group, but none the less Maserati is still sharing technolgy with Ferrari road cars! Like the rumours of Ferrari working on a 5.4 liters V-10, it is very true, but this engine would not go into a Ferrari replacement for the F430, but instead a Maserati mid range sportscar! It is also no secret that Alfa Romeo is looking for a strong car to help its return to the United States, which is why there is rumours of the Alfa Romeo 8C spotrscar! Maserati is still riding the tail of Ferrari right now, with it's current range of cars with more to come soon enough! This all makes sense because all these companies are looking to cut some production cost, while making different products! Ferrari being the power house of the 3 companies involved in this plan, are taking the lead to develop these 3 cars! As for the engines that I have heard of so far from Italy, I have heard that the new Ferrari engine will displace around 6.8-7.0 liters, while the Maserati will displace around 6.3-6.6 liters, and the Alfa Romeo will displace 6.0-6.2 liters! The rumours are very true that Ferrari/Maserati/ Alfa Romeo are working on new cars, and it is much rumoured that Ferrari's will be the F60, Maserati's new MC 12 supercar, and Alfa Romeo's TZ3 will share chassis, transmission, safety packages, brakes, and suspensions! This is FIAT's chance to target a larger range of cars, not just with Ferrari, but with a new range of supercars, from companies with great racing histories! This plan also makes sense because this is the same plan most car companies use when there is a demand for one car, and the demand out weights it's supplies, you develop another car to take up some of the demand and make a profit while your at it! The same plan that Porsche has been using for years with the 911 and it's varients like the 911 Turbo, the 911 GT3, 911 targa, and the 911 convertible, plug the gaps in the markets that you aren't in with another car and people will still want it! I'm in marketing, and have some really good friend that stay in Italy that it is there job to spot these research vehicles all over the place, and form what i hear these cars are working toward production now with Pinninfarina designing the Ferrari & Maserati while there is rumours of Frank Stephenson working on the design of the Alfa Romeo with Zagato thus the name Alfa Romeo name TZ3!

your credibility tends to drop when you start quoting future pricing.
even the manufacturers wouldnt know until the time came for release.

You are correct when it comes to final pricing. But they already have a target price in mind for the cars before they reach production.

Engineers have to know in advance what their financial boundaries are, so that the final product is not priced way beyond the initial target.

These cars aren't made to compete with the Veyron, but the next wave of supercars coming from Porsche, Lamborghini, BMW, Mercedes Mclaren, and the smaller companies! Pricing is always athe target in the car businesses, if you sale a car with the smae amount of horsepower as the next company then your even, but if your price and demand is good for that car, then you will win the sale! Ferrari already has a price range that there comfortable in with the F60, they don't want ot make a car that won't sale, and they can't afford to make a mistake in the market that they have ruled for years! Bugatti, has learned this problem first hand with the Veyron and it's pricing, as are other companies such as Project 1221, thats why there is a price hike now on these cars, because the demand is starting to fall with evry new car that attacks that market!Ferrari would want to undercut a market where the supplies and demand is all there own, they control this market, because there isn't another car in this market with them now! The Germans have been tryign for the past couple of years to keep up with the horsepower wars in Italy, and have fallen short!

VAG has learned wot? The Veryon is selling so well that they've increased production so that customers who've ordered one won't have to wait too long, raised the price, and announced that the next version of the car will have even more HP and top out at 275MPH. I know of several customers who like the car so much they've ordered two or more.

i figured that was a bunch of baloney!
do you know this to be true?
i have a friend in the middle of ordering one and he is considering waiting for the other version now.
which is what i would think all the other buyers would do the heard about the new model.

This is true that they are cutting there wait time, but they are losign money, they are barely going to break even on the Veyron, thats why they have to add another varient to the line up! Ferrari doesn't make varients of the F series of cars, they sale, and then there collectors items, no new ones to be made after the production run is up! Ferrari has been doing this for close to 60 years now, and have always stood for power, prestige, and privilage! VAG bought it's prestige in Bentley, Bugatti, and Lamborghini, which if I recall right all these companies before that were either on ther way out or on there sick beds! You can't keep up with Ferrari, Maserati, and Alfa Romeo when it comes to racing history, or survival skill! What the Veyron is to VAG, is what F1 racing is to Ferrari, a test bed for future technology for there road cars! It wouldn't be hard for Ferrari to make a car to compete with the Veyron, but why do that when they are ruling the supercar market! In the supercar race, it doesn't take alot to topple the top supercar, all it take is for them to enter your market with a product that can eclispe your product! Sure the Veyron has huge power, but the car weights 4500lbs., that doesn't truly make it a supercar! Look at the Chrysler ME 4-12 was a great idea, just wrong car company to compete in that market with the Veyron, it would have done better if it was a Mclaren supercar! The Germans are wanting to exploit that market with other supercars, but the Italians have been dogin this for years and show no sign of letting up anytime soon!

If all this is true about Ferrari, then where are some sources to prove it true. And for the veyron sure it can go 253 mph, but it also uses 2, 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8s, if you can't get that to make over 1000 bhp then it can't come close to the 800bhp 6.26l V12 out from the FXX. And if this new supercar comes out it might be close to 255 mph, it all depends on the torque.

Next Ferrari supercar will not be as powerful as the Veyron, nor that fast. They don't need to prove they're superior by making an ultra fast car.
It will be something unbelievably special, much more "F1 - inspired" than the Enzo, and waaay more powerful than the FXX.

About Maserati, something is in their pipelines... But we have to wait at least 3 years, when the MCC racing version will be old, and needs to be replaced.

But before this happens, something unexpected... Err, i can't say more... ;-)

I agree that Ferrari and Maserati have something in the pipeline for their next supercars. This includes build, pricing, etc. I work in Biotech and we have drugs in our pipline for the next 10 years based on conditions. And if Ferrari/ Maserati have been in the 'game' for as long as their cars have been producing profits, I'm sure they have the strategy all planned out that will carry their marque to the next level.

    Just my 2 cents...

More speculation. Most people would be surprised what a true project timeline looks like for these things.

There are two types of information on such projects. The actual clients and the people involved in building the cars.

Sometimes you find a very rare connection where an individual is a potential candidate for the first group and is actually a member of the second group.
