I thought members might enjoy seeing a picture of my new 360 :) I also wanted to say hello to everyone on ferrarichat.com for the first time. My name is Ray.

I previously owned a 1997 silver/black 355B (it was actually featured in Forza's 355 buyer's guide some years back, as well as in the book: Italian Sports Cars). After searching on and off for a couple of years, I finally was able to locate and purchase a reasonably priced 2001 ferrari 360. The car is currently being transported across the country and I can't wait for it to arrive! :) It took a while, but I was finally able to locate my first choice of colors and options in a 6 speed manual gear box. As you can imagine, I'm very excited to see the car in person.

I've already purchased a rear challenge grill for it, as well as K&N air cleaners. I'm currently also researching high flow cats and exhaust systems (leaning towards a Tubi again, since I had good luck with it on the 355). Other upgrades may include challenge or 3 piece modular rims.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello. I'm located in California (near Laguna Seca) and would love to get in touch with other owners in the area and/or on-line, etc. Attached is a picture of the car for anyone who may be interested in seeing it. It is titanium, 6 speed and all black interior. It has the 3M clear bra and 7,000 miles. Belts have recently been changed. ETA 2 weeks! :)

Beautiful car. Your going to love the 6 speed. Have you thought about a Capristo exhaust? I have a level 3 on my car and it still amazes me everytime I get into the car.

    Enjoy

    Hi Randy,

I'm going to install the hyper flow cats and perhaps some headers if I get crazy :) On the exhaust, I'm still up in the air. I had the Tubi on my 355 and loved it. I have never been a big fan of the capristo, but am hearing better things about it every day. Could you e-mail me and/or IM me so I could ask you some questions about it? I'm not clear what the little vents are for, for example. I would also love to see close up photos of yours and how the pipes are holding up. I have seen photos of one before where it appeared the material was rusting (although aren't they solid SS?). I like the light weight of the capristo. I would probably go for the level 1 (or the base one) or whatever they have. The level 3 must sound great, but I'd be concerned about tickets and waking everyone up :)

If you have any videos of your car or anything, would love to see/hear them. Do you feel the level 3 is overly loud in hindsight?

    Ray

Thanks Chris! If the car gets here by the 10th, I may just take you up on that. I suspect it will be here in the next couple of weeks.

Hi Ray, welcome and congrats. NOthing like a new Ferrari to brighten the horizon. I can speak from experience, tit/black is a wonderful combination and the tit. has so many different personalities you will never tire of it. This is my second Tit. car. Enjoy her well.

I do not have any videos at this time but I am going to be up in Tahoe this weekend with a bunch of Ferraris. My brother has a Tubi on his so I will video a comparison and post it.

I bought my Capristo used and it had a small crack at the mounting bracket which we welded and it seems to be working great. I have not noticed any rust.

We live on 1 Acre so the houses are not close together. I asked my neighbor if the car bothered them when I started it early in the morning. They said it did not bother them, they only occasionally hear it. I wait till I am out of the neighborhood to take it above 3k. I have had no complaints about the car, it is not obnoxiously loud.

Your not too far from Tahoe, drive up this Saturday and check it out for your self, I'm sure there will be other exhausts there besides mine and my brothers Tubi.

    Randy

Okay, thanks for the offer. I won't be able to make it, but of course I'm sure everyone would love to see a video. I did watch that video posted on here with the three cars.. that was a good test. At this point, I'm thinking I like the sound of the Tubi better. With hyper flow cats, I think it would have a sound like I'm looking for (similar to my 355 with a tubi).

Ray: welcome and congrats on your 360. I think you will really enjoy the titanium with the 18 inch challenge wheels, I have the same combination F1-GT/Black with front and rear challenge grilles, and the 18 inch challenge wheels. We need some pics when your changes are made!

Thanks. I'll be sure to post some. Latest update is that truck with my car is in Kansas and expected to hit the West Coast later this week and/or this weekend. So if all goes well, then the car should be here this weekend I figure.
